And I do not see this making it into production till GM and Chrysler get their issues worked out and they decide what to do, then GM needs to start posting positive sales figures, then they MIGHT release a stage kit for the LNF. But till then , NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. SEMA is just a tuner showcase.

Secondly, nobody has confirmed that there is going to be a release at SEMA...that is all speculation...

Here is the document...

ALL applications of this engine are 2008-2009, NOT 2007!!! Get your facts straight people.

SEMA is just a tuner\aftermarket showcase and has nothing to do with the automanufacture at all.

1) 2009 model uses a different computer, therefore almost certainly a different calibration

2) 2007 sky/ solstice 2.0L turbo is an LNF

3) GMPD is a tuner AND manf.

You are wrong on most of what you have said here. Do more research.

this is definitely a dumb question but i need to know, lets say you take a stock 08-09 and give it this new lnf upgrade, what benefits are you really getting besides the reflash or retune or what ever they tweak? and is there going to be benefit for people who are already custom tuning their cars or is it really just for people who wanna keep the tuning stock and just buy this upgrade from gm? sorry if this don't make sense, im a bit stoned.

Supposedly new sensors that are capable of higher airflow numbers, extended tables, but who knows until it actually comes out?

All I know is I will probably purchase it, just to keep my warranty and still get faster.

If its anything like previous GM reflashes it would be worhtless to buy it if your planning on using aftermarket tuning, because they will most likely lock the ECM, rendering those fancy new extended range sensors you just paid for worthless because the ECM wont underwstand what they are "saying"

It would be cool if they included upgraded charge piping and a big ass IC, maybe a bov?.... they need to sweeten the deal
Warranty is golden. Didnt expect these numbers (if its 100% legit). I think next up should be transmission/clutch upgrade stage kits.

OK...even if you know NOTHING about the application of this engine, did you click on the link and read the PDF before posting? It clearly lists 07 Solstice and Sky with part numbers...

It helps to not only read the thread in which you are posting...but also to read the post you are quoting!

With as quickly as the aftermarket has been responding to these cars, I would suspect that the new "locked" ecm and sensors will be cracked fairly quickly to allow further tuning. I'll make the decision when we see it and how much it will be.

Noone ever cracked the Jbody reflash or the LSJ Stage reflashes or ECM.

That is what has me worried. I hope that someone can at least get the new sensors to work with HP Tuners. I assume that a custom OS could work but I don't know what is involved in making one.

The only problem with that is that we won't be able to customize the tune to our particular car. Unless I have been misinformed, they only send out "canned" tunes and they are locked when you get them. Please corect me if I am wrong, as I really hope I am.

unfortunately ur right... gm just flashes ur ecu with their new parameters and will use the sensors to monitor things better along with the better power... they will not tune it specifically to your car

I was talking about Lyndon Wester, not GM.

So much misinformation here. There was an 07 LNF in the Solstice and Sky. 08/09 has Solstice/Sky/HHR/Cobalt. 12623326 is the part number for the ECM for 08 AND 09 for Cobalts, the calibration will probably change, but the hardware doesn't.

after Lyndon reflashes the ECU, you can still access it via HP Tuners...but as for the GM upgrade kit...I know he can unlock it and just hope that you can use HP Tuners after...

what it's turning out to look like is that since the 09's have a different OS...seems as tho they maybe already coming with this upgrade from the factory...and if that's true..then HP Tuners already has the 09 OS unlocked and accessible

Good to know. I really hope that is the case with the 2009 OS.

He didn't mean the 315hp tune, he ment they have a new OS that might be the one GM based the 315hp tune on.
