In fact, I don't know any other Cobalts running a ZFR that are tracked. I think that is why nobody with the 6758 is having anywhere near the overheating issues I'm seeing.
Adrian- is there anyway you can run some type of fogging system for the intercooler. No doubt your generating more heat for an extended period than anyone else sees. I can't imagine how much punishment your track days put on a motor. What kind of intake temps do you see?

For the road track he'll be running lower boost, and getting the oil line away from the turbo heat (pretty certain some of the heat issues were related to the oil line being so close). We were going to see how his temps (intake and coolant) the day the line broke.

Sorry you all didn't get the chance to monitor it. Wonder how long this tank lasts and how good it does. Thinking maybe Ryan Colon has something like this.

The gen3 used a difference oil feed for the turbo which will be way easier to route away from the exhaust

Yes, he does. I don't think it would last long enough, plus it would be expensive to refill it - even a fire dept typically charges $25 to fill a breathing air cylinder with compressed air. I don't think you need NO2 for cooling radiator and/or IC.

In terms of cooling, if we still need more with the new engine and reduced boost, I'm thinking a bigger custom radiator will be the first step. Maybe vented hood (although my budget for that just went in the LDK) and we haven't really tested the effect of the oil cooler yet. I have a bigger oil cooler core if we need it as well. And finally, more for longevity of the trans, a trans cooler that Powell is designing. But one step at a time

Yeah no burnouts I just use good summer tires so there is really no point in getting them that hot the pavment in the summer here you can cook a egg anyways lmao I might get more serious this year and get some race rubber just to get that new turbo power down and smoke a few locals that think they have fast cars lmao

So did the oil light ever come on? I thought there was a pressure switch to kill the engine when **** like this happens?

Not while I was driving it. It may have come on while the car was idling when we were staring into the engine compartment...

Does that allow you to route it along the other side of the turbo?

Like so: (not my picture)

Adrian, My ZFR oil line went the opposite way. we used a 120 degree angled AN fitting to -4 AN hose that went around the top of the compressor housing and down into the oil fitting on the block.

That would also be a big improvement. Mine went right between the hot side of the turbo and the heat shield

Got all mine from Summit racing.

This is everything for coolant and oil. I can't remember what fitting goes on the block itself. I think its another earl fitting

For oil use the aeroquip brand. When we did leemanfor's I didn't know there was a significant difference (as Omitek and Zoomer both pointed out use Aeroquip brand)

If I get in gear I was going to send y turbo to omiotec and he was going to use it to mock up lines. Thinking he was going to sell them direct, with heat wrap all ready to go.

Also add a 120* -4AN fitting to leemanfor's list (must of ordered that separate)

So you mean to get the aeroquip hose instead of the summit brand?

Yes. For the fittings, not sure how the tubing is for the summit brand. Leemanfor didn't have issues, but I'd wait for input from a more experienced person on the actual lines.
