Looks like I need a new engine

The good news with going to the drag strip is that you only go WOT for what, 13 seconds at a time. I was talking with John Powell earlier today and he made a good point; track cars see roughly 1:30 WOT on a 2 minute lap, and a session is 15-20 laps.... that is a lot more heat than you will see under any other conditions. In fact, I don't know any other Cobalts running a ZFR that are tracked. I think that is why nobody with the 6758 is having anywhere near the overheating issues I'm seeing.

Adrian- is there anyway you can run some type of fogging system for the intercooler. No doubt your generating more heat for an extended period than anyone else sees. I can't imagine how much punishment your track days put on a motor. What kind of intake temps do you see?

The gen3 used a difference oil feed for the turbo which will be way easier to route away from the exhaust

Sorry you all didn't get the chance to monitor it. Wonder how long this tank lasts and how good it does. Thinking maybe Ryan Colon has something like this.

In terms of cooling, if we still need more with the new engine and reduced boost, I'm thinking a bigger custom radiator will be the first step. Maybe vented hood (although my budget for that just went in the LDK) and we haven't really tested the effect of the oil cooler yet. I have a bigger oil cooler core if we need it as well. And finally, more for longevity of the trans, a trans cooler that Powell is designing. But one step at a time

I wouldn't do the back to back passes like you say especially if your doing a burnout because it's really hard on your clutch. 2 years ago I did 3 back to back passes on my lnf clutch and it's the only time I've really ever smelled my clutch. I could tell a huge difference in it for awhile driving it, figuring I glazed it.

So the new stock line is 14in and I bought a 16in

Adrian, My ZFR oil line went the opposite way. we used a 120 degree angled AN fitting to -4 AN hose that went around the top of the compressor housing and down into the oil fitting on the block.
