Now in some cases this will work. However will direct injection becoming common i honestly feel things should be tested in different scenarios. The heat generated is extreme during a session and a oil line rubbing tbe manifold wont last even with heat wrap tjat exceeds temp build ups.

When i install zfrs i give the feed back to the customer to keep as a spare. I use aeroquip teflon coated line and fittings to match. Aeroquip is hands down the best plumbing out there along with fragola as my second favorite. They do however come at a steeper price then buying chinese fittings or russell or earls.

This is my solution for the lnf and i movr the oil feed location from the rear port to the front port. The ldk would have to be slightly longer.

I think im gonna do this, i dont like the way the oil feed is either. Especially with an external dump, it touches the dump tube.

Yes this is a common issue to solve it i recommend a longer oil hose. My ceramic coated pcs helped but didn't solve it for me. Also I have some heat shielding I use that I can post a pic later that works very well and is cheap.
Finally got around to pulling off the oil line. There was no visual damage on the outside but I could bend it very easily in one spot close to the turbo. See picture below. Compared to how hard it is to bend the hose in other spots, my guess is this is where the hose inside the braid failed. I imagine with full oil pressure oil would squirt out quite freely through the braided hose.

I did you one better and dremeled off the braid. Hose was totally cooked and pulverized in the middle. I think this is definitely a design flaw. Anyone?

Yeah looks like what happens to all the stock wire protectors in our cars. To much heat and it crumbled.

I recommend that everyone with a ZFR consider replacing their turbo oil feed lines with something better like Omiotek has described. This hose will end up costing me 3 grand minimum

Nice job of dissecting it. That's crazy and I will bet it's due to heat. Thanks for helping all of us out Adrian. Sorry about the motor.

Do you really think it's necessary for people that don't go to the track and stuff?

Def look into DEI's cool tube at least, you need to keep the heat away from that line. It's certainly work a look (given your car is down right now)
