I dont even think Vince calls it that anymore. you could have an 'infiniboost' tune and be at 22psi. Im at 24psi.
That is not what Vince refers to when he would talk about the infiniboost tune. The infiniboost was referred to as the tune that could max out at 29-30psi.

Im not saying everyone should go out and NLS all the time. If you tuned your car then you know the consequences of taking the car further than what the maker intended for it, wether the engine can handle it or not. If you choose to stop NLS then, okay, but let the person decide for themselves.
He is tuned, and he may not know how hard it is on the car to screw up a NLS when boosting to 29psi.

Im only posting from my experience with NLS while being tuned and, obviously, there are others like me that have no issues doing it too. If your smart about it and your careful when and how you NLS then it can be safe.
Yes, like me also. However you can not take your own personal experience and apply that same thinking to everyone. He may not know how to NLS, etc.

I think I read someone said they almost took a second off their 1/4 time going from no NLS to NLS, but I think they were stock.

So the take home from this is its probably not to NLS when you go beyond the GM tune....ok got it.

That's what I would, and do, stick with. When Trifecta is off, I will NLS. When it's on, I shift normally, but quickly.

LOL, i didnt think that many responses would come off that comment. I am tuned on trifecta and i think its at 25psi. I nls at the track on the stock tune and dont have any problems. But for just some reason that one particular time, it misfired. But it has never done it before while nls with the tune on. I might have just f@#$^&d that one up. But i have ran at the track on the stock tune just regualr fast shifting, then nls i shaved off like 2 or 3 tenths. But messing up the tranny is not something i wanna do either.

i have the autolite xp 5263. They are gapped at 0.32. i didnt think they needed to be any tighter, all the ground wires on the coils are tight as well.

u can, but i wouldnt, bad for tranny with that much power. And dont worry about the misfire, it happen sometimes when u nls, just be more careful that ur doing it fast enough if u do try it. if i was u id drop the boost to at least 23 psi, 22 to be on the safe side. anything over 24 is a busted ring waiting to happen. the turbo produces to much combustion chamber heat at those boost levels, something will give eventually

Glad I found this thread. My car backfired when shifting from 2nd to 3rd on a tune. It also did it going from 1st to 2nd on the STOCK tune. It must have to due with banging off the rev limiter. Raise it to 7k and just keep a good eye on the tack when shifting. Shift a bit early, as the tachometer is lagging a bit.

a few people have said "backfired" in this thread. the car is supposed to make a satisfying little POP from the exhaust when the NLS is completed properly. do you mean misfire and not backfire?

Not that satisfying pop, but a backfire at 6k rpms.

So for you guys that are tuned, without a cat and/or muffler delete. during your NLS, do you guys spit fire? My friends MS3 spits fire, and I'm pretty jealous. It's raping fast too.

Catless GMS1 spits a little fire, sometimes i notice the flash. A stg3 MS3 out here normally is shootin flames but the Feckin tuned n modded evos are torches. I may hear 1 or 2 pops (backfire) when i NLS Never a CEL anymore boost drops from 21 ish down to maybe 14. I have been NLS ftw recently slightly bigger turbo cars right when they are catching up that boost release is killing them.

O and btw im jus a little confused "Misfire" thats more like your engine bogging underload isnt it? i have not had a misfire just a missed NLS that made the dash light up, followed by a pingin CEL but only for a second. If i felt anything like a misfire there no way i would be attempting a NLS. Stock tune and GMS1 the revs are too slow for you guys to be overrevving lol i still havent found the sweet spot 5999-6199 RPM maybe the begining of 6k because running to redline to NLS seems pointless and late.
