Mixing E85

This may be old news, but 100% E85 on a Sky Redline is not working out. Who has run both 100% E85 as well as blended E85/pump gas and what were the power results?

360 whp/400 wtq is common on the LNF stock turbo fully bolted on 47% Ethanol (1:1)

Edit: I'm too slow. lol.

5000 FT elevation running 100% E

What I think some people are forgetting is that even if you put 100% E in it's still actually a mixture. It's 85%E and 70% Minimum E

I'll bet it's the tune , not the gas . Some people mod's aren't really very good quality forcing the car to go back on 91...

Kansas City is at about 900 feet. Only mods are a catless down pipe and 3" straight exhaust with a 14" resonator.

You need to be fully bolted to run E IMHO

Not in the least. It does help with overall numbers and power. But a stock LNF can be tuned to run full E85 without issue.

Fully bolted requiring more fuel IS the issue. Stock can run E85 with just the right tune. Fully bolted catless 60% E smells the best, same power as 47% E. I couldn't make more power on E85 than E60 as it would max out the HPFP in long hard runs. I could tune it down for full E85, but what's the point?

Hey that's pretty damn funny SOB. Remember me? I was the one that tried to let you and all the other Kappa forum guys know about running Ethanol in an LNF. You were the one that said it was horrible, it would ruin your fuel system, it would make your motor blow up, it would make less power because of it's "lower energy content" or some crap, and pretty much it will destroy the entire world. You fought everything I said so much I ended up leaving that forum because it just wasn't worth arguing with you. I even told the mods there to close my screen name out because I never wanted to come back as long as guys like you were on there.

Now you want to know how to get your car to run right on E85? Sorry, but that's a super lol to me. I could have told you how to fix your tune back on the Kappa forum. Hell, with about 5 minutes of my time helping you with your tune I could have pretty much guaranteed you'd have shaved time off your laps. My Kappa is running a 3.6 second 60-100mph time, how 'bout yours? I've seen Wester's tunes, I GUARANTEE I could have had your car running better and making more power with a couple number changes in a couple tables. Oh yeah, and I could have told you why your car is "breaking up" above 6k too. What a shame I was pushed out of a forum for trying to help and share my knowledge.

Oh well, thanks for the laugh and good luck with your car.

This is the attitude that alienated everyone over there. If you don't have anything productive to offer, than keep it off line.

Over time, I have learned a lot more about the car (in general). STILL think ethanol is economically a train wreck the way the USA is producing it. We are a decade behind Germany on this. THEY have figured it out. As a road fuel it DOES suck, but as a race fuel, it offers a lot. What OTHERS here are doing is sharing some good input. If you have "the answer" to the 6000 rpm problem, then use THEM as an example and share it.

Look through my posts here, on the Solstice forum and on the HPTuners forum. All I do is share Bob. Except for when guys like you think you know it all and want to argue every point I make. Then the attitude comes out.

You want to have a contest on percentage of posts that offer valid information and advice between you and me, go for it. You post more than me but 90% is fluff. I post less but 90% of what I post is factual information, you just didn't want to hear it.

We have met God, and he is here.

Is there an ignore function on this forum? If I can't get some help, then spam is just not beneficial. For those that have PM'ed me, I really do appreciate it.

Is a better clutch not an option for you? It's a confidence builder to hammer the car and know a weak link is fixed.

I read about you on another forum from Gmtech a couple weeks ago i think.... Lol he was right you dont listen.

Some advise for you. HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT WHEN IT COMES TO THESE MOTORS!!! No one knows everything about these cars but i guarantee you he knows a **** ton more about tuning these cars than you do. People run full E on these cars all the time now, Im running full E right now on my car with no problems, and getting better fuel milage than on regular gas due to some cam tables that Gmtech shared with us. So yes he does give advise when you listen.... you dont want to argue with people when you dont know what your talking about. It just makes you look dumb. especially when your asking for help.

You can get the car to hold pretty much what ever boost pressure you want untill right at 5500-5600 rpms. Thats where the turbo just cant keep up with the motor and boost will fall off no matter what. I have noticed that each car is different as far as how fast it tapers off. Depends on if your car was made on monday or friday lol

Never said he didn't know what he was talking about. Never said I knew more about Kappas than others. One am one of many that believe there is "a message" and there is "the delivery". Philosophically I do not like E as a mandated road fuel or additive. At the time I observed that there may be compatibility issues with the Kappas, that is what I had learned. Since then, others have uncovered information that have change my mind, and others as well, that this probably not so, and I decided to make the switch FOR RACING. What I do not listen to is overbearing people that come off as being gods gift to whatever the subject is when all that is known is that they KNOW they are right and anybody that doesn't blindly follow their input is a moron, or whatever easy slur may be available. He showed up on a forum, made "X" statements with the implication that he is a GM tech of "Y" years and therefore was an expert and beyond questioning. Having been in the auto service sector for nearly 30 years (no, not as a tech) I have seen/heard people that asserted their grandness. They are, in fact, rare. GMTech would probably agree with me that if only HALF of the people that swung a ratchet were actually qualified to be working on vehicles, there might be a lot fewer of them as there would be less need for correcting bad work. I actually AM open to learning, or I would not be asking questions. I am NOT open to having information shoved down my throat.
