Mod Time

So i am ready to start purchasing the bulk of my mods.

But before i do i have some questions about intakes and Fuel.

For those making big power, how many have for sure confirmed that an aftermarket intake aka K&N SRI ect...is better than say airbox mod+K&N drop in+zzp or aem for that matter intake tube? 80 bucks for the zzp tube( already have the drop in K&N) vs 260+ for the SRI... is it worth the money?

Next Fuel... So far it seems that E85 is making big power, but the graphs i have seen are very peaky...more than your usual 91 or even e47 graphs.

E47 50/50 seems to make big power as well and the graphs are smoother <-leaning toward this route.

Finally 91 + Water/Meth, i havent seen to many graphs for this so no real clue. Only thing i can see as a positive for me is the availability of 91 and windshield wiper fluid lol.

Thanks fellas

Opinions = meth kits can be a pain in the ass. if you dont by methanol than you have to read the washer fluid contents carefully and have to worry about running out of meth and still making a pull cause you forgot....pump problems can occur if methanol sits in it for a while.... minor problems really so i tend to stay away from it.

intakes in my mind are pick one you really like and keep it. i see these being all close enough to eachother for the most part power wise everyone makes a nice one i prefer the ZZP thats my opinion but everyones got one of those.

Graphs are usually peaky in torque numbers because of boost spikes. IMO, get a tune that puts out 24psi and holds it for as straight across the board as possible.

It depends on how much money you want to spend.

ZZP tube and modded airbox is great, cheap.
Put on a downpipe only, catbacks don't add much power unless you are really up there.
Muffler Delete, great sound without spending money on a muffler
Stock intercooler is fine for a single pull, IMO to be safe you should get an intercooler anytime you are tuned. ZZP one has worked great for me.
50/50 E85.
Meth is too complicated.

You'll be set, except for new tires.

Probably around 350whp/400wtq

I agree with what has been said so far.

I run the abm, k+n drop in, and zzp tube. I posted my results from the tube alone and it picked up 8whp peak and 15whp by 6000rpm. I find it hard to believe that any aftermarket air intake will make over 5hp more than this setup.

I'm currently in the learning stages with a meth kit on this car and it's been a chore to dial it in. I lack any e85 pumps so meth was my only option. Meth can get complicated because everyone has their own opinion...run 100/50/30% meth, use washer fluid, use boost juice, this or that nozzle, activation points, and what not.

Thanks guys that exactly what i wanted to know. I am trying to get big whp and tq with only the nessesary parts and as far as i have seen it can be done. I see alot of people on here spend what i think is unnessesary money on parts that dont do anything but sound good or look good(to each their own though...). I want people to get in my car and be like WTF...what did you do to this thing! and ill tell them the simple mods and that i did it under a grand....

Mods to come within the month=

-Bad-Mab Down Pipe+ Electric Cutout (tried ording it today after i got confermation from Brad at BM that there is suffecient room for a cutout after the 02 bung. aprox 13",just enough, but their web site is messing up....at least on my computer it is)

-ZZP Intake Tube+ABM and K&N drop in

-Area47 Tune on 50/50 E/91

and after that zzp hot side cp and zzp intercooler.

ky clutch
i would just go ahead and get the k&n sri, but if the zzp mod does the same thing i say why not
catless downpipe
no catback, waste of money for sure
forge bpv
treadstone fmic, well made front mount and pricing is good
i was going to run meth decided to sell the kit too many variables that could go wrong at any given time
but from the people that i know in my area they seem to like running the e85

and i would go ahead and replace both charge piping with the front mount install
but you should make decent power i am due for a retune when i get my car back i really didn't have much time with byt at the dyno so i didn't make as much as i wanted
