mods question

i have recently bought and installed a K&N sri and Injen upper charge pipe. i have no other mods, and a stock ecu. i have noticed a significant decrease in boost from 13-16psi to 5-6psi. is this normal for the LNF? I will try another run when it gets a little warmer, maybe im just paying more attention to the boost gauge than usual. other than that, i have zero complaints, and love the throttle response+ louder sounds coming from the engine bay! keep in mind i realize to maximize performance i need a tune. but this seems to be a significant decrease in performance. thanks in advance.

Ya either limp mode cause of fuel trims or you have a boost leak...also check your end tanks on the intercooler there known for cracking....but recheck all your charge pipe couplers and make sure there tight

probably a leak in the charge pipping. Did you get upgraded couplers for the injen?

the stock couplers are WAY to short to make sure they dont blow off. Go to siliconecouplers.com and pick up new couplers and tbolt clamps. Will make your life much easier. I installed the injen cp w/ stock couplers...did a hwy entrance...blew a pipe off hahah..scared the **** out of me...limped home and ordered the upgraded ones, never had a issue since.

hey man. im checking out the website and it looks like they have what i need but what are the measurements of the couplers? i just dont want to order the wrong sizes. correct me if im wrong, but it looks like i need 1- 2" and 2- 2 1/2" couplers wide. are the couplers 3" long? i cant seem to find the length, only the diamerter.

ya the silicone couplers are 3" or so.
1 x 2" for the turbo outlet
2 x 2.5" for the cp to cp coupler and cp to IC

and double those numbers for the tbolt clamps.

If they are indeed t-bolt clamps and not worm screw ones, they'll be fine.

That's cool. I remember the Injen pipe on the stock IC plastic fitting was a pain to get a good seal.

Just a tip: When installing silicone hoses or couplers, spray the connecting surfaces with a good healthy coating of hairspray, attach the couplers, let dry for a few minutes. This will help a great deal at ensuring the couplers do not blow off.

you have a boost leak check you charge piping. you dont need to check the intake

oh make sure you installed the MAF in the correct way... that might mess you up.

And 5-6 psi is a significant boost leak. you will throw a code soon. Limp mode is 0psi boost.

Getting the aftermarket silicone couplers and t-bolt clamps is probably the best $25 you'll ever spend on your car lol.
