MPX catch can install question

This is ONLY about the MPX folks....

Well I finally got this sucker installed...not fun

Anyway, I noticed that when installing the brass fittings on top, that the TOP plate turns around a little inside and also moves slighly up and down when pressing the top plate. I was a bit concerned about this, but Modern said it's expected and that there's an *O* ring type seal there to prevent any leaking. Anyone else note this slight movment of the top plate?

I could actually spin mine all the way around, this helped to get the right orientation, but as far as functionality, it has no problems on mine.

Thanks...I know you can turn the can itself by slightly losening the top nut holding the bracket, but you're right...the top plate can turn as well to align the fittings correctly. They never point that out either..that's what took me by surprise.

Mine also spins slightly. I was also able to use that to help get a better orientation once the brass fittings were in there tight.

However, since there is an O-ring in there, I would suggest not spinning it too much or too frequently as you could damage the O-ring!
