New changes coming to future 2.0T engine
New changes coming to future 2.0T engine
The Regal & the new small Buick Verano will be getting an improved/updated 2.0T engine.
Improved Air Flow, for more Power & better fuel mileage are expected.
Maybe a better Head / Pistons for us...

Verano will be launching exclusively with GM’s 2.4-liter ECOTEC, but will be getting a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine within a year after the car’s launch later this year. While that was already disclosed in the press release, the fact that the 2.0-liter turbo is getting ‘reworked’ before it launches in the Verano was not disclosed.
According to Federico the 2.0-liter is currently getting overhauled internally and the reworked version will launch in the Verano, but also extend to the Regal Turbo at the same time. He did not elaborate on which alterations the engine will see, other than promising overall improvement. The engine is expected to produce a zero-to-60 time of ‘around 6.5 seconds’ on the Verano.

most likely ONLY pistons and an update to run higher rail pressure (shorter more controllable fueling duration = better economy) beyond that I don't really see the need for further upgrades...someone told me they may now come with a pcm monitored K-type pyro...that would be nice...but I don't see it happening.
Remember the vast majority of ring land failures are more likely to be cylinder over temp vs. over pressure.
