New Functional Ram Air Hood for K&N LNF's
I MIGHT be interested depending upon the final design.. but the suncoast is probably the best Atm. Wouldn't be getting one till next year anyways, so u have time to design one and show us some pics. If it looks ghey or isn't really functional, then there's no point. The RK isn't a bad design, but it's also a little plain to me.. if I'm spending 1k(even $500 would be 1k to Canada) on a hood, it better look damn good and do something positive for the engine! The suncoast one does that fo sho. It's not extremely good lookin, but it ain't bad; definately better than stock. My 2 cents...

I wouldn't be totally against it looking like suncoast one.
I like the looks of both.
It'd need to be carbon fiber and for the LNF.
Like to see a slit before the intake to let water drain.
Test it out in the car wash.

^someone should make that front bumper... if only there was a fog light housing you could use to fit in there... looks pretty sweet imo
thats probably my favorite hood also.. second place to it is the g5 vented hood..

Hood intake needs to be where it can catch a good amount of air ( forward) and would have to have a good water catch, had problems last night in the rain with OEM hood and K&N. Would it come with a box to surround intake?

I'm all for protecting the intake while getting max amount of cool air directly to it.
All ideas welcome.

I've done nothing to make it unique at all.
I want to make this thing look noticeable and in a good way.
No sticker bombs...
I thought about something like the LS1 guys do and making some tubing that runs from like the front air damn or foglight area channeled directly into the filter but its not an easy thing to make on this car.
Whatever benefit you would get (if any) doesn't justify all the work and cost at all IMO.
I'm going to drive over to Suncoast on Wednesday and talk to them about making just an extractor hood. Something that's functional at pulling hot air out. I'd rather have a hood that looks more like stock and more low profile. Something that draws hot air out well is the most important thing for a F/I car. If hot air is going out, that means cold air is moving in...
