New Parts

I just recently installed a 3" catless dp and 3" exhaust w/ magnaflow muffler and resonator. I also installed performance style boost piping all these parts are from Clear Image. THe full exhaust sounds sick on my car, when just cruzing it is a low smooth sound, then when i get it on it it is just like holy **** sounding good. these parts wer a lil bit of a bitch to install but im very happy with them.

Also i have a question. After i put all these parts on i was only boostin 8psi, but it was still pullin hard. then i kept turning my car on and off and cruzin around and now its is boostin at 15 to 16 psi. im guessing this is the learn down feature on the car i guess the ecm was just like wtf is goin on. also before this i was boostin 17 to 18 psi and its now only 15 to 16 so im guessin that since it is now alot less restrictive that it soenst have to makle as much boost to make 260hp. please correct me if im wrong. Thanks guys

I have had the same thing happen with my intake. When I put it on I was making less boost!

ur not having an issue, it now needs less boost to make the 260 peak hp. so thats what the ecu will keep it at.

You could just have a boost leak from the boost tubing. When I put mine on I guess something wasn't tightened enough and I wasn't boosting past 7 psi. I don't think the computer will adjust the amount of boost you push to learn it down because I'm boosting at the normal amount now after I found what was causing my problem. I'm still untuned.

The ECM will adjust somewhat but going from 15-16 psi to 7-8 is not really normal. Even untuned the DP will free up about 10-15 whp up top normally. My boost never dropped (maybe 1 psi overall) as I modded my car even before I was tuned. If I load a stock tune into my car it sees ~15 psi just like normal.

Thanks again for choosing Clear Image Auto. Now, as stated above, make sure you do not have a boost leak. With the T-bolt clamps you can get an incredibly tight seal at the silicone couplers but many people are hesitant to do so at the stock intercooler due to the plastic ends. If you have a leak, or something popped off, it would almost always be at the intercooler fittings.

Keep me posted.

all the clamps and everything is tight no boost leaks its boosting at 16 psi now and pulls hard. idk why it was only boosting at 8psi before it was really wierd. It was building boost really fast then just stopping at 8psi. everything seems normal now i just wanted some input from you other guys if this has happened to anyone else and if its normal.

Learn down, you just threw a ton of stuff at the ecu and it has to sort it all out. Happened with my hahn cool air intake from TTR.

I'm pretty sure learn down won't lower the boost. I think it just lowers the overall horsepower of the car.
