No boost

Well I guess my Christmas presents are car issues.

So Yesterday I take my car into a touchless car wash to rise all of the salt off of her. After i get done, I dry the door jams since it's still cold (around 15) and didn't want them to freeze. So anyway as i'm leaving everything seems normal, hit some boost everything fine.

I fire it up today, and as i'm driving I notice that it isn't reaching full boost. It would boost til about 12 PSI til about 4K RPM and then just fall on it's face and drop boost to about 5. I did this once on the way and twice on the way back same thing. The last time i did that I had it floored in 2nd gear and it peaked at 12 and dropped back to 5 at 4K then at around 5.5K boost drops to 0 and I'm still flooring it but the RPM do not rise and the car wouldn't accelerate.

Now after that no more boost, but car seems to run ok? .... No CEL or anything else coming up. Checked the piping and all is tight. Not sure if the car wash is unrelated or not... It's an 08 with Cold air intake and charge piping, but otherwise stock.

any ideas?

Probably your intake since you are not tuned, but best of luck.

I don't think that's the problem, i've been running that for 6+ months with no issues.

Clean your TB and MAF Sensor first go from there. Sounds like it got wet in the wash.

If not, those jets under the car to wash the undercarriage might have messed with the lower map sensor wires, since they are a bitch and susceptible to problems as is...

i agree with the poster saying you are not tuned for it. i said the same thing lol..." i had been running with my untunned intaked for 8months etc..." well the difference was the temps. went from being hot and humid to cold and dry(cold front had moved in) got mine tuned and NO problems ever since.

The end tanks look okay, I'll have to clean the TB and MAF after work.

I am on stock tune, with the Injen cold air intake. Hasn't thrown a code or otherwise presented a problem. Tending to think this is not the issue since it's been cold out for about a month with no problems.

It was about 10 degrees outside, so not super cold. I usually hold about 14 PSI at those temps.

I'm still under warranty is this something i could make the stealership diagnosis under warranty?

Thanks for the help.

I just went back to Minnesota for Xmas ever had a boost problem with my car till I drove 10 hrs I never got on it the whole drive then 15 mins away I got on it a bit and it hit 15 Psi then went to nothing, the whole rest of the way she wouldn't make any boost needle stayed at about 0psi exact. It was about -10 F The next morning I took it out to see what was going on i got on it a few times and as soon as it spooled I let off did it about 10 times and she was back up to 22 psi what it normally runs under full boost. Idk if something froze up or what. There was not any under body car wash before hand. It seems like if I drive for a long time without boosting in cold conditions it doesn't like to boost fully only about 15psi vs normal 22

That could be your high-pressure-fuel-pump, or a boost leak. If you can log, you can check your fuel rail pressure. If it's a boost leak, you can find it with the test in my sig.
