No Start After Clutch Change
No Start After Clutch Change
I have an 09 LNF that I just changed the clutch this weekend. After getting everything buttoned up, I went to start it and it showed me the anti theft light in the dash. Remember that it does this when you've disconnect the ECU, I went through the stages of waiting 10 minutes with the key on and then turn it to the off position for 5 seconds and try to start it. If it doesn't work, retry. The thing is, my anti theft light doesn't stay on like it says it should. I try to start it, the light goes off after about 5 seconds and that's it. The radio works, the locks work, and I can hear the relay click when I try to start it but it just doesn't do anything. I tried disconnecting the ECU again to see if this fixes it and nothing. Any ideas?
Yes, I can double check but there wasn't much I took out. You remove the fuse box but i put everything back in along with the grounds off the post. It won't crank at all. it just shows the anti theft symbol for about 5 seconds and then disappears.
double check the fuse box. ive seen people not get the connectors lined up straight and tighten the bolt and it ends up not pulling the connector into place. also unhook the plugs and check for bent pins, ive seen that before as well. and id double check the grounds, a lot of times this situation can be caused by a missed ground.
I went outside and pulled the fuse box off and clipped everything back in. I don't think i tightened the 7mm bolts down enough for fear of damaging something when I initially put everything back together. I tightened them down now and she fired right up! Thanks a lot guys.
It's driving really well for last few days. I went with OTTP's stage 2 clutch which looks like an OEM LNF pressure plate and an ACT 6 buck sprung clutch disk. I've driven about 30 miles and everything feels solid. I tried doing full boost in 2nd gear yesterday and it slipped at the top. Has anybody had this happen before on 6 puck clutches? I know you have to break in organic clutches for a hundred miles or so but the material in puck clutches you don't need to break them in as much. My 240 puck clutch we broke in on the dyno with no slipping at all.
Just curious is all.
