Haha I love rolling coal too, but that's usually the sign of poor tuning... they shouldn't smoke alot, that just means there is alot of unburnt fuel flowing through. My old diesel suburban never smoked cuz it was really efficient.

Not following your thought process there... lol

That's what I'm saying. That and you never have to keep showing up at race shops to shell out more money to fill up on boost.

Well I can see it for a non boosted motor... but ours come with forced induction from the factory... Any power you can make on spray you can make by upping boost.

Only thing to remember with Nitrous on a forced induction car is the "shot sizez" (HP rating) is alot more, as that is meant for a N/A car.

So a 50shot (50 additional HP) will end up being alot more than 50HP on a turbo car.

I say giver tho, if it is properly set-up nitrous is very safe, problem is most people half ass something together and blow their **** up.

Most t/c and s/c kits on N/a cars are hacked together also. People start with good intentions, buy a kit, realize they don't have the skill to install it, then install it anyways while cutting corners, then blow their car before having it properly dialed in, then come on forums and bitch about how x company makes a garbage x kit and no one should buy it because you can't install it on your car with a toothpick and scotch tape.

Does he have a banks tune system? My buddy's dad has one on his truck... it's all controlled via a PDA attached to his truck.

I have thought of doing this with a VERY small shot just to have something to wash the valvs with and prevent the DI gunking up the valves.

Nitro doesn't have the same detergent effect as the stuff they add into pump gasoline, in all likelihood, it wouldn't do a shitting bit of good. you would be better off with a H2O/Meth kit... If you remember from highschool chem class... water is known as the universal solvent. Carbon deposits would be washed off, also the meth would help with that since the alcohol in the methanol would clean the valves... and METH/H2O is cheaper, easier, and more useful on a day to day basis than NO2

that's cool... Give it a shot then lulz @ the pun haha... um I would just say meth kit cuz its alot harder to blow your motor to jupiter with a little 2gph water fogger nozzle.

I have ran 4 bottles through my car. 50,000 miles on it and been tuned since 3k. I do My own tuning so I know how to keep it safe. Its a dry 75 shot. The car comes to life when it gets it. Think about the first time you were tuned... then add that again ontop of your tune. You cant use it unless your doing freeway pulls. I break loose at about 85 to 90mph in third gear when it hits. It does help the IATs during long pulls. The only issue ive had is traction. a progressive style system would work best. The power comes on so hard and fast that it just breaks loose. Not like a turbo that builds the power.

These motors can take a lot if you have a safe tune in them. I spray meth 50/50 alc h20 mix, run 50/50 E85/93, 24-25psi, and the 75shot the majority of the time. You wont over spool the turbo either with a proper tune. If you keep boost reasonable and use the nitrous for the extra power you need then your fine. Then its would be just like adding more volume from your compressor side of your turbo. Nitrous is just as safe as boost. You just have to use common sense and tune for it also just like boost.

Wet Nitrous shot will clean nothing. If you are spraying a wet nitrous shot with alcohol as the gas from a spare tank then you may get a slight cleaning effect on the intake valves, but not much to notice due to it only getting the alcohol when you spray. On a port syle injection system your injectors spray the intake valves so if you run e85 or alki then you will have much cleaner valves. Meth injection on our cars will clean the exhaust valves and tops of the pistons. Not the intake valves. I know this becaue i have sprayed meth for the past 10k miles after cleaning my intake valves and still had gunk on the valves after taking a second look. the cleaning effect is after it burns mainly.

Yea but the Meth isn't spraying all the time just like the nitro... If it sprayed more it would probably keep the valves cleaner... but bottom line, fuel has additives in it to clean valves and such, in DI we aren't getting it on the intake side so no cleaning effect.
