25 bucks. 35 if you want them to tell you how long you can take your oil. I dont really care about that, just wanted to see if the motor was having blowby

I use Blackstone too-- very easy to do. Email them they'll send you a sample kit for free, you pay (put a check in the sample container) when you do the sample. If you do a prepaid bulk deal it's less $. You can also buy an 'extractor" from them to take the sample through the dipstick tube. (I made my own)

I change my oil once per year, whether it needs it or not.

That's what my OLM and owner's manual says.

For us Canuks: Wearcheck = www.wearcheck.com
35 CDN dollars plus tax. Same thing. Includes trend monitoring online.
They said SOAP every 2nd oil change. Results in 48 hours.

well as you see here, even at 6k miles they said it looks good. I could probably go to 10k and be fine. I dont know how much you drive but you are just wasting money imo.

^this

I change mine every 5k with Mobil 1 5w30 and I'm guessing I could run more if I wanted but I'd rather not given how I drive it (esp during racing season)... this coming from a son whose father calls me crazy and religiously changes his conventional every 3k or thinks it will blow up

I ran Mobil 1 Extended Performance in my LT and changed it every 10k (even though the oil was rated to 15k). I felt/heard/saw no difference in the motor, I dont trust the filter for longer than that is all

This go around I bought the High Mileage stuff as I was told its better than the regular 5w30. I think ill just change my oil filter at 6k and then run it to 12k and see how the oil looks

It's a lot easier to get a sample if you use a Fumoto oil drain valve. Plus it makes oil changes less messy.

I change my oil about every 8K miles. when the OLM gets down to 20%.i run 5W30 Mobil 1 EP. The OLM for my SS/NA was calibrated for conventional, and i have noticed no issues with the engine. 167K and still going strong. i wouldnt change it too often, just a waste of money IMO

I just added cilantro to my salad and it's the ****.

Oh and used to change my oil ever 3 months, but reading that post about changing it too much is worse I decided to do every 50% OLM and I literally drive 100-500 miles a month so it'll be awhile. For example, my car hasn't be turned on in 3 days. It'll be turned on tomorrow and likely the weekend but that's it.

I plan on doing this soon too. I'm curious.
