OTTP stage 2 or 3 transmission mounts

okay so I took my car to my local shop because I couldn’t figure out what was causing my steering wheel to shake at high speeds and causing the car to pull to the right and I was told there was a lot of play in my mounts and was recommend to go with aftermarket mounts by the tech since I have full bolt ons and a tune so I wanted to ask your guys opinion on what I should get stage 2 or 3 and Would it be worth buying there engine mount as well?

I’m not sure the tech didn’t say anything about them but would that be something worth replacing while I have him replacing mounts

Agree^^ Also consider a non-voided rubber or spherical bushing as an upgraded replacement to the stock voided bushings if you do decide they need replaced.

Yep, parts stores carry upgraded moog bushings that are much better than stock. If you want the best of the best youll have to email gloria at powell race shop.

So what should I be looking for to know if my bushings are bad is it noticeable right away just by looking at them or do I check for play in the control arm?

the bushings will be dryrotted some and cracking. 99 percent of the time they are. i have the ottp spherical cabs and all 4 of ottps mounts. the car is solid and not wheel hop. i reccomend them for sure.

Either Powell or ottp are good, I was running stage 3 mounts from ottp and his cabs and was pretty happy with them

I got the stage 3 mounts from ottp installed and my car vibrates like crazy bad enough you can hear the vibration and it vibrates all throughout the dash and you can feel it in the gas pedal and the tech said it needs time to break in and that it’s also cause they stiffer mounts then stock in your guys experience is this normal?

For me it was mostly when starting to move only other than that it wouldn't vibrate. There is a way to install them so vibrations aren't that big.

that’s what I’m experiencing mostly while starting to move but at highway speeds it’s minimal vibration

I was originally going to buy Powell mounts but every time I’d try clicking on the mounts hoping to get to a page to add to cart it would just refresh the page so I got frustrated with the website and just ordered ottp

Have you checked out the zzp performance ones? They have solid rubber mounts so that they are not as harsh but still have the support you need. And definitely look at the lower control arm business, the rear flat bushings rip and cause wicked torque steer and all kinds of problems. I pressed in moog solid control arm bushings and that helped a lot.

Powell is the best money will buy, it is track tested and proven and the owner helped design parts with GM Performance. No other vendor can back that up.
