Ouch, in for pics for sure. Almost done that a couple times now with this one, hope it's just a knocked off rocker or broke lash adjuster.

another wierd thing that i noticed while i drove it home.

the car would randomly start having massive misfires on cyl 4 and 3. when it would do it, my iat2 would shoot up FAST. like go from 88* to like 130* in a few seconds.

my MAP sensor went out

the engine keeps making this clicking noise too, and it jerks, kinda like when theres a vacuum leak.

when i was driving no matter what if i tried to accelarate i was hitting 2-3 pounds of boost and it wouldnt go up more or go into vac unless i let off the gas.

i have no power at all, car is very sluggish, but after that id expect it.

no smoke is a good thing right?

also, it was running very lean, but no smoke or detonation, nothing overheating (except my iat2 freaking out)

Repair obvious lash adjusters/rockers that are misplaced and then perform a compression test to diagnose if the valves are fine.

Sorry to hear. It can happen to anyone of us.

I would have pulled over instantly and towed it, but to each their own.

He said he was in the middle of nowhere without cell service so that wouldn't work

If the map really is shot like you're saying then that could maybe be what's causing your iat2's to register all whacky. The iat2 sensor is part of the map sensor in the coldside cp so maybe it's THAT messed up to cause erratic and incorrect signals.... hopefully

Goodluck with things man. Hopefully it won't be much more than a shot map and a few lash adjusters.

i would more than likely say you have bent valves and i would definitely talk to mongrat to see if he could work with you with the new head

i am praying you didn't spin a bearing as well since you are noticing the other noise as well

ouch.... I hate to say it, but from the video it sort of sounds like you may have broken a spring retainer and your valve is slapping the top of the piston. At the very minimum you definitely have a lash adjuster or 2 bounching around in there.

I hope for your sake that I'm completely wrong.... and for god sakes don't start it again! lol

Lol. Im not.

The wierd thing about that loud ticking, it goes away after the video ends and comes back like a minute later. It does it on and off.

Ouch that video made me cringe hearing that noise, diffenently sounds as though something is hitting but I am keeping my fingers crossed for you that its just lash adjusters and not valves

Damn dood. Sorry to hear this!! Like most everyone said, hopefully its something simple and not bent valves. To be honest, I would think it would run much worse if your valves were jacked. I'm betting you got a rocker in there playing hop scotch.

Good luck Dart.

valve tap.

Sounds like you may need to grab a new credit card with 0% interest for 12 months and buy that Head off of mongorat. pay the card monthly for the 12 months and its like $45 a month. Thats your gas money if it takes that long to fix. Hopefully it doesnt lol.

It sucks that this happened, Ive definately been guilty of doing that samething shifting to a wrong gear. Luckily I dont fully release the clutch and catch it before it over revs. Now I see what i've avoiding three times now.
