what kind of car, does your friend have an aftermarket intake or anything else done to his car. and at 15,000mi the cat shouldn't be clogged unless the car has been running extremely rich for a long time and you would get a code for catalytic efficiency as well. but give some info on the car and maybe we can help ya a little more.

well the tune may have caused him to run rich. but there is a reason the map keeps blowing or its being wrongly diagnosed

I have a couple questions regarding this code because I just got it yesterday. Its just the sensor that needs to be replaced correct? Also how long can you go driving with this CEL on? What exactly is the sensor not working doing to my car if it is doing anything bad?

Potential Symptoms
Anytime the MAP sensor signal is low the vehicle will likely have a very difficult time starting. Other symptoms may include:

Hard to start
Long cranking times
Sputtering/missing
Blowing black smoke
Poor fuel economy
Dies intermittently
MIL(Malfunction Indicator Lamp) illumination

Causes
The causes of a low MAP sensor signal circuit (P0107) could be any of the following:

Bad MAP sensor
Open or short in the signal circuit
Open or short in the 5 Volt reference circuit
Ground circuit open or shorted
Bad PCM

Man I have seen numbers ranging from 290 whp to 335 whp and 340 wtrq to 404 wrtq with that tune no real rhyme or reason. Very inconsistant numbers. Dyno's do read differently but not that much. Mods make a difference but again most have similar mods.

well I personally blame that to the weather here....i was making like 29psi which is the reason my map sensor died. I retuned today...same tune and my car is only boosting now to 20 psi(im saying about 270-280 whp probably and probably 290 to 310 wtq................................hope i don't get the p0107 troobleshoot code again
