Exclamation P0449 code won't go away!

So this P0449 code will be the death of me man. I have cleared the code, tightened gas cap. Made sure the vent solenoid had power. Replaced the solenoid. Reset code, still not gone!!! What should be the next item I look at? Thanks!

Note: my gas mileage blows now. Seems to be directly related to this code. Not sure if that has any impact but figured i'd include it.

There are two (2) solenoids - one at the gas tank and one on the top of the engine, did you replace both or just one?

Whaaaaaat i did not know that lol. Only replaced the 1 attached to the tank. Do you happen to have a part #? Thanks for the info!

EDIT: is that the pressure control solenoid? I think the seal was actually leaking on it

Did the code go away? I threw the same one and went to Advance and got one for $25 and put it in, in no time (front solenoid). It actually uses the same size socket as the battery, how convenient!

Good to hear it's fixed. I assume you did reset the battery after replacement right? Anyways, glad to hear it's running well again for you.

We cleared the codes and all that jazz. Code came right back. The car was wearing my patience thin so my tuner approved of disabling it. The car has GREAT gas mileage now and runs like a dream

Make sure the emissions fuse isn't blown.

Also, you have to make sure the the vent valve at the tank is getting power. Can you check with a test light?

IDK i guess disabling is fine.

It was checked, thats why we thought it was just the canister valve solenoid (idk the exact title of it). That didn't fix it so we went to the 1 on the intake manifold. that didnt fix it either. So i made the executive decision of F THAT and turned that crap off lol

P0449 fixed

1.After checking the gas cap, it’s fine, I still had the P0449 code.
2. After replacing both solenoids, the one by the gas tank and the one on the top of the manifold, I still had the P0449 code.
3. After checking if I had power at all the solenoids power connections, they are fine,I still had the P0449 code.
4. So I followed the vacuum hoses from the top solenoid to the back one. I noticed where the top vacuum hose connected to the back of the top solenoid, it had tension on it, meaning,

Instead of sliding completely straight on, it was sliding on with tension on an angle pointing down. With that tension, there must’ve been a vacuum leak right at that connection. That vacuum tube is made of solid plastic and as it came up through the bottom of the engine at a weird angle, around other hoses, making it have tough angle when putting it on the solenoid. I brought the vacuum hose up through a different part of the engine at a better angle and it slid straighter onto the back of the solenoid. I also put cable ties around the solenoid to the vacuum hose, Making sure the connections stayed tight on the solenoid. So far there is not a P0449 code on the car. Hopefully this will help some of you guys out there. If I can figure out how to put pictures on the site, I will
