The pill and vacuum tank delete
I tried a .060 a few months back and will only spike 1-2psi more then settle to the regular boost level. I installed it and drove around for a week on it. I pulled it back out and i'm riding around without a pill for the winter.
I don't see why people that are still stock are doing this. It makes no sense when your car is going to throw a fit. Even tuned, I see little to no advantage to pulling the stock vac tank out.
I had some issues in high gear ...low rpm situations . When i would let off I could hear turbo flutter . I hooked the tank back up for storage and will prolly leave it on when i get it out next year.
yeah, you honestly need to be tuned for the pill though. if you want 24-25 psi go with a .045 tip. I have .030.
I did the .030 for about a month with being tuned for it. I didn't like the driveabililty of it though...no matter how lightly I accelerated with it the car would be in boost all the time.
I'm pleased with the boost on the .045, but it still drops to 19 psi above redline with a better flowing downpipe. When you flow more air, it can't hold the pressure. Spikes 23-24 initially, holds right around 21 then tapers down.
Adjustable pill mod
Here is the adjustable pill mod I fabbed up. It has a 045 Hobart mig welding in the straight through line and a brass 1/4 valve in parallel with the tip. You could also use a smaller 035 or 030 tip. The ball valve can be open to run in stock tune mode and closed for tuned mode allowing you to drive around without over boosting. Ball valve can be used to fine tune the pill also.
I finally installed my Adjustable Pill setup. It works like a dream. Used 035 Tip. With the valve closed I boost to 27 PSI and it settles at 24 all the way thru 7000 rpm. The stock tires blow off in all gears 1 thru 4. With the valve open boost is at 18 psi. Im going to log it and send off to Vince at Trifecta for adjustments to my tune. Im happy now.

Ok, so I've got a question about this:
If you've got an adjustable pill mod, how do you tune for it? Wouldn't the AFR always be off?
It just seems that if you turn up boost higher than what the ECU is thinking it is going for, then you'd be lean.

At WOT the car is going off MAF only so the A/F will be correct assuming the MAF tables are dialed in but if you are not careful you willl get lots of knock from the extra cylinder pressure. That is why it is so important to data log the car to make sure everything is ok.
I guess that makes sense, since the car would be in open loop at WOT, but didn't know if there was something else I wasn't thinking about.
Reduce timing when running higher boost pressures and airloads.
