Logged last night, .035 pill vs none, my car is .5 to .89 sec faster 60 - 100 mph on 2 pulls with the pill. Same timing, no knock.

4.84sec. best w/pill so far, 5.75 worst without. Slower than a few here, faster than some.

Sure'd be nice to have some wastegate control.

 

all depends on how much timing you were running with the lower boosted tune (e.g. - 22psi, etc.). when switching over to pill mod.

I was getting some knock in the mid range when I went to the pill. Reduce a degree in the areas that needed it and all was well.

 

Depends a lot on the conditions and the gas you have. The same damn tune and basic mods in my car runs 4.3-4.4 seconds on the pill and 4.5-4.8 seconds without it.

 

Broke, didn't your car have all sorts of KR problems in the beginning?

My car is *kind of like yours where as it doesn't like as much timing as some other cobalt's. I remember one day calling it the, "I am Broke" syndrome.

 

His will not take as much timing as I have tuned some on 91 octane and the same A/F. He has crappy gas I guess LOL. When he was running a mix of 110 leaded and 93 octane the knock went away.

 

Yup, I had sunoco vs other cars having Shell at the time. I promptly made the switch to shell and haven't looked back.

 

I always use Shell 93 octane.

 

yeah, I do too. I drive 4 miles out of my way for it too. On a trip home over the weekend I passed 2 interstate rest areas (10-15 miles apart) with sunocos in hopes I'd find a Shell. I literally was on the red line before I HAD to stop for gas as there weren't any nearby.

Only filled it up a 1/4 of the way though so it was just enough to get me home to my local Shell.

 

Same issue with all the gas around here, Shell, BP, Marathon, whoever. I think BP serves 'em all around here since the refinery is in the region. There is a Marathon & Citgo pipeline terminal close though.
