Definitely! The fact dye was added should tip you off. You shouldn't be losing any coolant at all. I've had mine for a year...not a drop gone. I would have them check for porous block..maybe head gasket leak. Demand to know WHY they added dye in the first place.

ya im going to have them check for porous block saturday. i have a feeling the existing owner relized he was losing coolant, had the dealership check it out. They probably added the dye ,used the black light and relized its not leaking externally and called it a day. But the fact being it could be an internal leak. Ive checked dipstick = normal oil color, ive checked under oil cap = very tiny bubbles but not much condensation, i have no visable external leaks and im defently not blowing any color smoke out of exhaust. This is what confuses me the most coolant disappearing but no signs of were its going lol. Lucky i spent the extra money and bought extended warranty has saved me some headaches already.

head was replaced along with head gasket. dealer said that was the issue. well $2400 later and 2 days after it was done. in the middle of west viginia mountains. LOW COOLANT its been about 4 months since the day it got fixed and ive had to add about 2 jugs of coolant total. its still losing it. no sign of leak. no overheating. highest its gotten is 201 and that was in 111 degrees. at a redlight. usually runs around 185-189 driving and 196 at idle. so i have no ******* clue. im damn sure not dishing out 4-6k for a new motor

yeah thats what they did to mine like i said above, took it back and got a new block. Take it back and ask them to explain to you how a factory defect is caused by mods.

You have a porous block..almos100% certain. You need to either see another dealer and/or contact GM customer service and raise HELL! Get all the info you can from here or elsewhere on the internet regarding POROUS BLOCK ISSUE and make copies. Dealer should run a die though the coolant and see where it winds up.
