Exclamation Problem with my Cobalt

Ok so tonight I pulled up to a stop sign and there was no one around so I turned on launch control and took off NLS to 2 and then notice through 2nd gear the car didn't have as much power as usual, NLS to 3rd and a CEL came on. About 5 seconds after I let off the gas and shift into 5th the CEL went away. i put the car in 3rd and went WOT and all the power was back. So I'm wondering what you guys think about the CEL and if I should worry about it and what I should check.

Typical misfire don't do it again it's because you either 1. didn't warm the car up 2. didn't do it quick enough 3. didn't do it in the right rpm 1-2 is very difficult just so ya know

I had the same problem once.... My car was at about 150-160 degrees and did it, i dont know if its the car acting up, i think its more of a safety thing to keep you from beating it cold. How long were you driving before this happened?

Something else to keep in mind, just because your coolant is up to full temp doesnt mean your oil is warmed up fully.

I had been driving for a good 20-25 minutes so I think the car was warmed up. I think I'm just going to stop NLSing and hope the light doesn't come on again.

Check your CP and Intake piping just to make sure there's no holes. Also log your A/F ratios if you can. Misfires can be caused by going extremely rich or lean suddenly. After 20-25 minutes the engine definitely should have been warmed up. If you're not tuned you can go to the dealer and have them try to find the problem.

Yeah, I have missed the no lift shift quite a few times so far. I think I have it down but, once i bounced off the rev limiter too much and the car bogged down, once i grinded my gear, and quite a few times when i was not in comp mode the wheels spun and the car said traction low and the traction control bogged me down. Thank god i have not had a misfire yet.

Thats one thing I love about this car. When im in second and I stomp it at like 3k the tires will break loose and spin up to 5k where the comp mode will hold it till the car catches up and then it will continue on its way to redline. Its not able to catch it fast enough in 1st though and will bang the rev limiter if your not paying attention

The CEL thing is normal if your car isnt warmed up. I did it once as well. The car will misfire and then immediately go into safe mode/ "limp mode" it cuts spark to one of the cylinders and limits boost. Then after alittle while everything goes back to normal. misfire isnt gonna kill your car, but doing that consistently will.
