soooo, my car has been doing the dododo, gobble gobble gobble thing from the turbo for a bit now. lol. Yesterday i went to accelerate on the highway and the car wouldnt!!! it would boost up to 10psi, then fall on its face. Tried one more time and the same outcome....Still no check engine light even after driving home, and drove fine while i was slow driving(not boosting)...

i never did the actual test..trouble shooted, and i really thought it was the bpv, so it is being ordered along with a new zzp low profile intercooler. i will have it all on and retuned in 2 weeks and hopefully the only problem i will have left is installing the stage 3 ky clutch i have.

try doing a compression test. it only takes a few minutes to pull the spark plugs

so, i go to work this morning and i get the "flutter", bogging down syndrome again, only this time the car flashes a cel!!! so i get it scanned and its a misfire code p0303.
My plugs were brand new just before the tune, and the coils looked great as well. I am gonna check them and see if its them, if not, then im in trouble
my car has 42k babied miles, i cant believe this.

update: so i removed the spark plug in cylinder 3 and it was completely black and chared worse than the old plugs that i took out with 40k miles on it..i ran it with the new plug and didnt get the bogging, but it was always random anyways, so i still dont know if its fixed.

ive had a few of you pm me saying it may just be a boost leak and its causing a misfire...hopefully you are correct because ive had a few say it may be the lash adjusters, and im hoping not...i never over rev my engine, nor do i beat on it, so i really hope its not the lash adjusters

I'm beginning to wonder if you have that carbon buildup issue on the valve seats. Maybe you should do a compression and leakdown test.

Yeah, boost leak test, check your wastegate rod, compression test, cylinder leak down test in that order.

Something you could do real quick is just remove the BPV and check it for tears. The only cost is a few minutes of your time. Even though you plan to replace it anyway if you did find a tear at least you would have peace of mind for discovering something causing your issue.

I had a coil go out once. It was early on........ I think 30-40K miles. It made the car run like ass and took a while to throw a code. Another easy, and free test... swap #3 coil with another one and see if your misfire follows it. I also had an exhaust cam solenoid go bad but that caused random misfires on all cyl. So I don't think that would be the case here.

That's at least two free, easy, useful tests you can do.

I would definitely do a compression test. I have a mild tune running 21-22 PSI and I broke TWO pistons! My test at the time came back as 136 - 126 - 142 - 30
Now... after a long while and a 20 overbore to correct scratches I'm 165-170 on all. I hate to cause you a bunch of worry, but it is a reality we face with these LNF's.
