Yeah, I always go just past 3k RPMs every gear just about. I remember reading it was good for the clutch I just don't know exactly why. I also do it bc it's fun.

Torque...if your boosting at low RPMs it's not good on the clutch. But, I don't see how shifting at 2k would be bad on the clutch. Unless your romping on it and going into full boost right after you shift when your still at a low RPM like 2k or under. That wouldn't be normal driving though, now would it? lol

I read that it isn't good to cruise at 2k or lower either because of the direct injection.

Either way, I've shifted at 3k since day one. I just think the car drives better that way. I sometimes shift at 2k when I'm going from 1st to 2nd, but usually before I know it I'm already at 3k

Also, think of how much stress you are putting on the motor. The K04, (granted not everyone is on it) is a fast spooling turbo that is very sensitive to throttle position Hell, I'm cruising in 5th and give it a wee bit of gas and boom, I'm dipping into boost like wtf?? lol

Shifting at 3k sounds so much better than 2k even stock lol I can't wait to go catless

Exactly. We have a 3 mile long hill here. I'll be cruising at 60 in 5th at the bottom. Next thing I know once I start going up it I'm boosting like a **** lol. Granted it's a pretty big hill, but still.

lol I would just drop gears and take off lol, If your comfortable with it then its all gud, try it out if its not loud enough get the forged BPV, unless you going bigger turbo then get a bov.

I stick to shifting about 3k and I barely boost it but I think my plan is my bolt ons and keeping the factory turbo bc I'm only looking at 325-350 hp and ill be happy but I need to do my gms1 in order to gain power so put minor bolt ons now and then go from there
