Rear brakes - EBC part #'s
Rear brakes - EBC part #'s
Well, as most of you have already experienced, my rear brakes are completely toast with only 24k miles on the car. So I ordered new rear rotors and pads. I will replace the fronts shortly so hopefully the brakes will now wear a bit more evenly. Anyway, I looked up part numbers from EBC since I am a big fan of their products. I ordered the following items:
EBC-DP21704 -- 2000 Series (green) rear pads
EBC-GD7266 -- Rear rotors
I just wanted to see if anyone else has used these on their LNF and to double check these will be correct for this car. Thanks.

Just go buy EBC pads for the rear of a Solsitce. They are the same as the Cobalt SS/TC. I have red stuff pads on my car as we speak. Also don't waste your money on those rotors unless you want EBC rotors. NAPA has replacement rotors for the Cobalt SS/TC for 35 bucks each. I am running them also.
Red Stuff rear pad # DP31749C
Red Stuff front pad # DP31539C
You should be able to figure out the green stuff pads given that info.

Thanks for the info guys.
JDM74, thanks for the numbers for the red pads, but I had ordered the green ones. If these in fact do fit, I'll post it up for other members. Personally I am a fan of the green pads for daily driving. They are cheap, not OEM, and not the crap you find at AutoZone and have pretty good braking characteristics as long as you don't heat them up too much.
I called Summit Racing and their tech said the brake pads should fit, but it doesn't look like the rotors are correct. So I put in a call to EBC (California office). The guy I spoke with (Chris Noah) was super nice. He couldn't verify anything, but he said he put in an email to their UK office and will call some Chevy dealership tomorrow to verify what will and will not fit on my car. Then he said he would give me a call back tomorrow.

So yeah, the pads you ordered aren't going to fit.
Updated the brake info thread to add the EBC pads - https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...68&postcount=1
Thanks for the info guys. Yea the stuff came yesterday and they were not the correct parts for the car as was mentioned. I picked up brakes at a local place over the weekend and replaced. Thanks for the help.
