The failure is simple: third gear breaks. the teeth jam up down in the pocket by the bearing and splits open the case.
SO
The case is broken by pieces of shrapnel
making the case stronger wont help
changing 2/3/4 for a close ratio set will really help. 3000 or so plus rebuild
or dropping to 4.45 cwp will help. 500 or so plus rebuild

anyone wants the cr gears let me know we can do a run. expensive but really wakes the trans up.

the case is not an issue.

This is an LSJ, open diff, one wheel spin too much and the carrier fails. Case broken the same way by the same thing; gear shrapnel jammed in the pocket

So far you've contributed nothing to this thread, and all we've been hearing is some pointless posts and name calling from you. Do you have something to say with respect to the transmission failures that's of merit, backed by evidence, or don't you? It's a pretty simple question.

Thanks for the summary you've posted many times. And i'm sure you've posted the answer to this question but I can't seem to recall it, what do you mean by cr gears?

Shouldn't have said that. Chris88z24 is probably gonna call you a moron or an idiot or include you in with the bunch of herbs.

Well the next chapter begins...took these pics today at my performance shop. My brand new Powell cryo-treated 4.45 F35. Should be in the car by next weekend, hopefully. There's a Z06 and another LS beast ahead of me in line lol

This is the first time he has, not counting Mongorat's who did it himself and sent Powell the parts. Not just the gears are cryo-treated; the case, gears, shifter forks, everything

we will see. I put in an LSJ TOB on this. Figure that the LNF's have been failing too much lately. We will see if I am wrong/ never have failed an LSJ TOB though, gotta say...
