!!! Hahahaha. I think he meant he changed the lights when they illuminate... But I don't know. He did a hell of a job installing my CP & BOV!

 

Yea, we're not talking about the shift light. We're talking about the gear indicator changing gears when I DIDN'T change gears.

 

I have seen weird **** like that too.
My guess would be that the gear is calculated by speed vs rpm, given the fact it thinks it is in neutral if not moving. And if you clutch slips or you are spinning, the ratio would be significantly changed.
However, I have not had it change screens on me. Maybe someone else drove your car haha.

 

I also suffer from RPD weirdness. From the day I picked up the car it's never showed neutral. I had to take it in to get the other gears to show, but they can't fix the neutral thing. 4 trips to the dealer later they told me it's not supposed to show. I laughed and gave up. Mine does that too though. randomly says I down shifted to 3rd when I'm in 4th. It's just a glitch in the matrix I guess.

 

I just noticed this the other day when I saw a youtube video and the RPD was in N I was like wait I don't have an N. Was your car built after Feb 09? There was a big deal Late in Jan. that had to do with the RPD so they were saying, I just wonder if the N was dropped for some reason.

 

5th is the only overdrive gear. Maybe that has something to do with it.

 

Yeah actually, I picked it up may 15th! I ordered it straight from the factory. Every time I take it in the dealer calls GM and eventually calls me to say they don't know what's the problem. Last time the guy wanted to know if I had a friend who's car showed N so they could compare them lol. What have you heard about what happened in Jan with the RPD's? I've been looking for some "closure" forever and a day now!

 

It was just a weird time for builds. No one got their cars because the SS line was shut down. I was told by my dealer that I wasn't getting the car because the RPD was on some kind of back order, and many people had ideas, from GM not paying the manufacturer to the RPD screens were no good and they were trying to buy them from someone else.

yeah I've showed them videos. They finally believed me, but they have no idea how to make it work right, that's why they want a car that works right so they can do some detective work. I don't think there's anything they or I can do so I've given up. *sigh*
