Arrow Is Sensor Calibration Stored in the ECU

Hello all,

I had my steering sensor recalibrated at the dealer as it was causing the ESC to wrongfully activate. Problem fixed!

I have two ECUs; one tuned one stock (the one that came with the car).

When I had the sensor recalibrated, I had the stock ECU in.

One question is, when I put the tuned ECU back in, will I have any problems with the sensor? Is that info stored somewhere else?

Thanks!

if i'm not mistaken the steering wheel calibration is stored in the bcm so you should be fine.

You should have no issues, I have the same set-up as you and have never had any issues what so ever.

Yes the Steering angle and Yaw sensor values are stored in the BCM and the Brake pressure transducer data for the EBCM (electronic brake Control Module) is stored in the EBCM. When that relearn process is done those values are reset.

I am a little confused. When I go to put my tuned ECU back in, will the steering sensor that I had recalibrated be fine, or will I need to recalibrate it again with my tuned ecu?

Thanks!

No, the info is stored in the BCM (Body control module). Not the ECM (Engine control module)

When ever I swap ECUs, does it have to relearn? I ask becuase the previous poster mentioned the values resetting after each relearn.

No, ECM is independent of BCM.
