That's all Im looking for though. I know tuning will pull out all the extra HP that's kinda trapped because of the "learn down." Right now if I can do the intake, and wait to tune, until I can get a few other things, I'd like that... I want to do charge pipes, but again I don't know if that requires a tune or not either. I'd like to get as much as I can before tuning, so I don't have to retune a bunch of times. I'm also looking at doing the GM Stage 1... I'm not really looking to be the fastest SS or anything. Will the GM Stage 1 reflash be good enough for intake, CP, DP, and exhaust?

From what I remember with mine if you keep the stock parts on, it will perform exactly the same with full bolt ons using the gms1. You need a custom tune to take advantage of ANY bolt ons for this engine.

alright, I'm going to take this all into consideration I'll have to get the valves checked and cleaned before anything then I'll proceed with mods....judging by this thread ZZP seems the best way to go.

lol were ya under a rock this last week but ummm I was bored to hell with the ATS, I found someone to take over the lease and it's gone, thank God for that to.
On that note, I was able to take this out today for it's first run on dry pavement (never got to do that yet) and DAMN IT'S QUICK! what the hell?!? it's WAY faster than the caddy was! what is this sorcery?!? does RWD sap a lot of HP? was the diff ratio in the ATS not right? I dont get it but this thing is much quicker, even my G/F agreed... I dont get it but I like it
Car fax doesn't have GMS1 on it and the previous owner barely knew what boost was or that the RPD gauge displayed it...and him BEING the 1 and only owner I HIGHLY doubt it's tuned.

Lol @not knowing what boost was. The sorcery is light car with good power and torque. The caddy was way heavier. Power delivery was probably way smoother than raw with the T/C. As you add more power you will experience the pitfall of a high power FWD

haha yeah the caddy was much heavier, want to know something depressing? there were AWD ATS' dynoing less than 200WHP on the forum and it wasn't uncommon to see RWD ATS dynoing 200-220 WHP from 273 crank, we're suspecting the final drive ratio and RWD have something to do with it but yeah... kinda sad Oh but the power was smooth as silk, just sort of wisked you away. I know how a high powered FWD car can be, my neighbour has an '07? Impala SS and the torque steer on it is absolutely disgusting lol.

K&N SRI. If your getting an intake, id get that one out of all of them. As for all other components, any company EXCEPT HAHN is a good choice.
This is true for the most part. The fuel trims bounce around just as they would on the stock tune, but some have not been able to run the intake without a tune due to fuel trims skewing too postive and setting off a CEL. I think the majority see a +7.0 LTFT which is okay but theres room for improvement with a tune. When I dont run my tune, I see ~4.6 LTFT average during the fall/winter, and I see ~1-2LTFT during the summer.
Just be aware that since running the K&N intake with out a tune works for me and heeter, doesnt mean necessarily that it will work for you without an issue, just a higher probability that you'll be fine.
