Question Stock 2009 Cobalt LNF Turbo Inlet Size

Hi Folks,

I'm new to the forum and am looking forward to learning and sharing here!

Have a 2009 Cobalt SS LNF, K&N intake, aftermarket intercooler with aluminum end tanks (I think it's cracked - little to no boost) catless downpipe, 100k. Live 45 miles south of Buffalo, NY. The frozen tundra.

Simple question that I cannot find an answer to - what is the stock turbo inlet size on a 2009 LNF? I'm going to order a $30 intercooler pressure tester and obviously want to get the proper size. I believe it is 2.5 inches - but want to be sure. I don't want to start pulling things apart until I get the pressure tester.

Thanks in advance!

If you do a pressure test you need to take hot side pipe off turbo and test all piping and intercooler to TB

i'd say its 2.5". I mean if your off, just get a "stepped" coupler.

..

It could be a BPV solenoid failure also.

Yeah I think this is correct. Can't remember, one is 2.25 and the other 2.5 I believe, which would be hotside.

It's much cheaper to make the boost leak tester yourself, we have a how to thread

Test post turbo, not at the inlet.

U cant pressure test on turbo inlet, not should u. It will spool the turbo which shouldn't spool without oil going through it. Also the pressure will go into the crank case via pcv line. Take off cp to turbo and put it on there. 2.5 inch
