Term2 vs?

So basically, just got my trifecta tune data logged and I'm not impressed with it at all. They aren't wanting to retune it either because they think knocking 4* is normal Made 303whp/350lbft on a dynojet with full boltons, dont mind those numbers as i have a stock clutch still but the datalog scares me.

It's hard to ask for tune advice on cssgang without dozens of people jumping up and down over Jame's and almost bashing everything else out there. It's mind numbing.

Was pretty set on a term2 tune until I hear about a guy in canada that was saying he's retuned cars from james and term that were horribly done, his name is chirs zelinksky.

everyone I've asked so far have only said good things about him. My friend made 332/373 off a downpipe and term2 with 0*

Chris said the config for knock was wrong and on his config it was knocking, but a local hptuner in our area made another config and it wasn't knocking at all

trifecta sucks. vince is ok but the other guy is horrible. km043 or term2 are great tuners. km043 is a friend and has tought me a lot about tuning so now I do a lot of my own.

You are right about SS gang and James, that gets soo old. He may do a good job on some of their cars but there's also been a lot of problems that I have seen/heard of, but on that page it's all about him. They even bash term 2 and I haven't heard of him blowing up motors.

Term is da man. I made 359/418 on stock turbo (E85) and my current numbers are in my sig. He has tuned all LNFs in our club and we've seen zero issues.
But the others mentioned above are good options too. Just don't have any first hand experience with them.

Why have a 2.7 and never go wot. Pulley up or get bigger injectors. No one wants to be responsible for your car leaning out.

I live in Halifax as well. And i can tell you for a fact there is a local tuner that works a lot with term. And from what i ALSO know of tuning an lnf. Term knows his stuff. My lnf has been tuned by them. And i have zero knock. Although we could only get 13 or 14 deg of timing with no knock. Its better then the stock 10. Lol.... If you are trying to decide weather or not to use term or not. I would for sure. I hold 23 psi and peak at 24. I am running a .86 lamda and am at 13 or 14 deg of timing and have 0 kr. The car is an animal now. And it spins second everytime i hit the gas. We could have gottin even more out of my car. But i wanted to keep it fairly moderate and not toally ***** to the wall at 25 psi and even more aggressive timing. I say use term. You wont be disappointed.

X2 for term. My E47 tune is a monster

Always responds in a timely manner if you have any questions/concerns, always willing to look at new logs if you think you have a problem.

The only other people on here that I would trust would be 09cobaltss1, arm, omiotek or area but I don't think he remotes.

Nothing but good things to say about John (09CobaltSS1 ). The guy wouldn't rest until my car was spot on. I had some existing problems we had to sort thru and so we ran many logs, each one a little closer to perfection.

First off a dyno is a dyno, they are all different and will give different numbers.

Second of all, James is a turd. Anyone with half brains tuning can tell you this.

Third off, that Chris guy does know what he is doing and I approve. If you are in Canada, go with him.

Otherwise if you want tuning in Toronto contact me.

Cheers.

You can thank your Colorado Cobalt chapter 5280Cobalts for this; we convinced him to come out of retirement and we even bought him his new HPT cable We could not bear the thought of not having him around for all our LNF tunes!!

Lol that's awesome he's a good guy I met him in person and I own his old cobalt SS/TC with his 24 and wild tune on it had the car for sometime now and can't complain. Hopefully here soon I'll be able to invest some time and money back into it and get it back to term for a upgraded tune.
