Thoughts On All Intakes Currently Avaliable For the SS/TC
x2! I've had the AEM CAI sitting in my garage b/c I don't know if it's worth putting on with all the problems that have occurred with the elbow. I was debating just using the stock elbow as Term stated to get rid of the surging, but then airflow decreases, although i'm sure it's still better than the stock box. I had read in a thread a few weeks ago that someone with the AEM intake was using the AEM elbow and had no surging/choking issues at all. I believe they had an 09, so maybe the surging/choking is more noticable in the 08's than the 09's.

Looks like i'll be using the stock elbow until AEM gets a fix out...which they should since it's been a problem with everyone who has purchased their intake.
Not 100% sure what diameter (i think in the 75mm range) an LS1 style MAF sensor with the aluminum ends and build in air straightner is but would be worth a try to take the ends off the sensor, machine the back of the aluminum ends flat so there is a smooth transition, then bolt the two pieces together and clamp it in front of the LNF MAF. Its the easiest and most plentiful air straightner i know of. You can find these on 93-02 camaros/trans-am's and late 90's model chevy v8 equipped vehicles. Unfortunately the newer model chevy's have one piece MAFs so taking the air straightner out withot damaging it is next to impossible.

Stay away from AEMs because of the surging issues but other than that no it makes no difference at all.

So my suspicions of paying more for hahn because I follow the "you get what you pay for policy" proves to be solid...at least with the intake.
I want to see a write up with piping as well. Pipe is pipe, but fitment is what I am looking for. *continues searching*

So, I work for a company that is in the process of developing an intake for the LNF, and i passed alot of these ideas on to my boss. I am not 100% sure how practical alot of the ideas are, but we are going to make our best effort to provide the best intake on the market. Its going to come at a price, but it will definitely be worth it!

Billy, the intercooler is on my car right now, and we are working on a second, larger one on another persons car at the moment. The intake is probably going to be one of the last things done, unfortunately, but it should still be out by mid May, I would presume. I am trying to gather ideas from this thread that we can implement into the design, so we can get it right, and have a bunch of happy customers.

I will check with Dave, and see when we are going to have them available. The thing holding us back from releasing them at the moment is a severe lack of cores from our distributors. Everyone is running into this problem. Last I knew, we were JUST getting caught up on our Solstice intercoolers, which we had standing orders for.

i dont know if this has been discussed, but i thought of it yesterday and was curious. CIA's MAF relocation pipe for blow off valves.... if you relocate the MAF in this car, then any intake problems should be fixed. Wouldnt this seem correct. No more MAF's too close to air filters causing turbulance. Is there less turbulance after the intercooler? Anyone ever test one of these and look at MAF skew?
Actually now that I think of it they say you have to tune for that. so then whats the point as you can tune for an intake.
