Time for a few upgrades!
So, my 09 TC balt is finally payed off and I got cash to spend. Around 5,000$ to be exact(also doing some body work but thats not in this budget). I just have a few questions about a realistic build I am trying to achieve. My goal is 350WHP but still be reliable enough to last me a few more years. The balt is sitting at about 70,000 miles. I know its a little high but I love this car and I am going to run it until it blows up(later rather than sooner).
The only thing I've done to the car performance wise is a hurst short shifter and a K&N SRI intake. Other than that it is pretty much stock.
The mods I am getting so far: ZZP catback, ZZP Downpipe, new tires, Tune.
The mods I am thinking about getting: New clutch masters clutch and flywheel, Bigger fuel injectors, ZZP FMIC package. Or maybe just say screw it and get ZPP LFN turbo upgrade.
I just had a few questions. The first one is will the mods I am currently getting make 350WHP at a safe PSI lvl that will last? I dont want to throw money at this only to have to turbo take a **** because I am pushing to much PSI. The second question is about the downpipe. How much HP difference is there between a DP with and without a cat? I'd like to be able to pass smog when I need to and not have to change out anything so I was thinking bout getting a cat. The third question is if I went with the turbo upgrade should I go for the package or just get the turbo itself to bolt up to the mods I am already getting? Or is it better to just get the package?
Cheers!

350 whp will be hard to attain on pump gas with the k04. Fully bolted and tuned I was at 320 whp. Might be able to get closer with E tho that's not available around me.
I would add the zzp IC kit (Intercooler, upper and lower charge pipes) get the DP, exhaust and go get HPtuned by a reputable tuner in your area.
When the learn down feature is removed with a tune you should see a decent gain from a catless DP. Maybe 7-15 hp? Never had a catted dp with tune so not sure if you'd make much less than catless. If so I'd only imagine a couple hp/nothing noticeable. Note that catless is a lot louder, something to keep in mind.
ZZP ZFR would be a a little overkill for you, if your only aiming for 350 whp. With ZFR you could look to hit 400whp all day. It's a direct bolt on so but the price tag is reflected in that fact. Though getting something like the s256e with mods needed to run it will end up running you about the same cost. All depends what on your plans. I went with the ZFR.
Any more questions let me know

Thx for the input. As far as goals in mind I want more power to be able to run with cars like vettes and 5.0 mustangs BUT still be a daily driver and be able to last a few years with general maintenance. Not sure if thats possible.
Everyone's different. Get over it.
So I guess me still owing money to the bank, upgrading my car, while at the same time buying another truck and buying parts for it, is even worse. Huh? More power to you guy. I like spending my money. Haha.
This, lol. The only guy I know that blows a trans and laughs about it
The catted down pipe will pick up some power, but I have heard of some still failing emissions, be it thru the visual check ( you are required to have 2 cats ) or by the sniffer I've heard of some fail, though that's a crap shoot, and I think unless the inspection tech has a hard on for you you should be ok. Just save the factory pipe and worse case you can switch it on if needed. My dad told me the o2 sensor comes out much easier if the exhaust is warm. I didn't get to try it, he told me this after I complained what a b*tch mine was to get out. Anti seize is your friend here.
I use the ZFR and I love it. Start saving for a new clutch, and it might be time to check out your valves for coking. The Powell PCV is the hardest $400 to justify spending, but it really works as advertised. You may look into that too.
Exactly.
You make me sound crazy... By the way you must've missed my newest thread. Trans problems have returned!

Just FYI Mr. OP, the ZFR will get you to 350whp at about 22psi conservative tune on pump gas, which is nothing for this turbo, considering you can turn it up to 32psi and still be efficient. Room to grow if you ever wanted.
