Trans Mounts - TTR, Powell or ZZP???
and our the new economy powdercoated all steel version (dom tube and steel).
If you are new to the scene, then you are unaware that our RaceShop originated the rotated mount in 2004, building Cobalt race cars for GM. The race rotated mounts are described in the GM eco delta buildbook.
Maven originated the term "hardcore" for our parts.
Jimbo SS, LS1Fbody, ThePaul and Area 47 used the first rotated streetable non vibrating mounts in OEM cores, Jimbo posted a video showing no hop in 2008 .
The copies by vendors are just that.
I am not sure if ZZP have a rotated mount. They are a reputable shop. Ask them
IMO, suspension work I would go to Powell. Engine/power/drivetrain I would go to ZZP.
I find it funny that our name isn't even on the list and I know we have sold more mounts then any other vendor because we have been selling them longer. Some rules for shopping with mounts....
Buy both of your trans mounts from the same vendor, don't use a ttr rear and our front. They weren't designed together and you will end up with problems.
Look at what they are made of, 3 companies still sell billet 6061 mounts. OTTP, ZZP, AND TTR. Powell sells a welded steel version. Obviously billet aluminum costs more, looks better, and doesn't rust. Your choice.
Finally is price, look out for sales as they pop up all the time. Right now you can buy our front and rear mounts for $140

lets re-read here.... new version is to reduce costs and made of steel. big deal? the stage 2 is the real deal just like you have been selling forever or so you say. unfortunately people odnt wanna spend money so vendors have to find ways around things.. making things cheaper isnt always bad as long as it gets the job done.

your choice either the original genuine Powell hardcore race parts "billet" version in alloy 6061 T6 ( 6061-T6T6 temper 6061 has an ultimate tensile strength of at least 42,000 psi (300 MPa) and yield strength of at least 35,000 psi (241 MPa). )

I decided to try ZZP's. I figure 110% money back guarantee seemed pretty good, and if it works on their own cars with the times they get then must be decent.
Though I still don't get how the stock are rubber and theirs are rubber, so I don't get how that would be a real upgrade.
Guess I'll see anyway.
If not then I guess I can return them and try Powell's.
u make me lol..... so you copy a design almost 100% and you call it your own? then your going to put down powell because of a "new" version. you sold powell mounts and yours are a a direct copy other then some bling and you want credit?

You have been drinking too much of the koolaid. Our billet mounts aren't a copy, If I made a stock mount with a insert pressed in that would be a copy because thats what powell used to make and it cost $400 for a set. We were the first ones to sell a billet mount, I paid for it and I approved the design. That makes us the original billet mount. Since you weren't involved in the situation you wouldn't know about it.
funny thing you mention the coolaid since it hasent touched my mouth since 2004.... i believe thats before production was started on the originals... and key word their you approved the design. you didnt build the design. you just used it later to build a copy. even if its a different bushing, different material.....i could put pictures of both side by side and a 2 year old could realize they are nearly the same exact mount. do yours rotate the engine? probablly.... do yours look exactly the same except yours have some fancy maching.... yes to that one, do yours use a very similar rubber bushing.... yes do they use the same spacers and what not. yes....

Him, Really thinking I should have went with Powell's mounts, but hopefully ZZP's are good too. If not good news is ZZP will let me return if not satisfied, so then I can go with Powell's if ZZP's still have wheel hop and vibes.
Looks like a lot of really happy customers from Powell's.
