wouldnt painting the entire intercooler adversely affect its performance. i know paint doesnt dissipate heat as well as aluminum unless maybe its ceramic paint...

You would get it anodized, not painted.

when we spray the logo, its just an enamel paint. If we spray the intercooler complete, it will be enamel paint also. We can see about getting powder coated, but that would be prob cost $50 or more. Anodizing is the nicest, but costs us $100 and up

Jason,

These are TR10 and TR12 IC kits right? meaning all the mounting hardware, couplers/reducers, and clamps are included with that price?

Also, are these prices priced as shipped? just asking the necessary question so nobody is confused in this group buy.
he did say the 250 was shipped so im assuming the rest is the same?

I'd be willing to pay the extra $100 if you could get me an anodized one.

Got a question you said the TR8, TR10, and TR12 are the available ones correct? And we can't get the TR8L because its 2 inches longer? well the TR10 is also 2 inches longer so wouldn't that not work either?

There's a subbie forum thread where they coated a top mount ic black an did extensive testing... the ic coated black dropped temps wayyyyy better than the non covered ic.

I will Google it later to see if I can find what they used to coat it with.

You are right. The version of the TR10 that has the same length as the TR8 is the TR1035. The TR12 is also the same length. HOWEVER, it looks like the TR8's OAL is 28" and the other two have a 30" OAL, so I guess the lateral runs of the elbows will have to be 1" shorter. I don't know about how they'll fit behind the crash bar. I only have experience with the TR8.

hmm yeah interesting thread. so it seems that treadstone would need to get their hands on this black heat dissipation paint and do very light coats on the fins. says the cooling gains would be minimal but atleast it wouldnt hurt

I like my TR8 because I know it fits great, has great ground clearance, and has a LOT of heat-storing metal. MAYBE black would incrementally help heat dissipation to ambient air (though I know the major work of heat dissipation is borne by intake air while the car is off boost). MAYBE a bigger model would give some kind of advantage, but I know this one fits perfectly. In all, sometimes it seems like modding is an exercise in finding the point at which something good fails or makes something else fail, and I'm too old to go there (one of the reasons I went for the 2860 instead of the 2871).

I don't think the overall length has anything to do with it... i think its how long it is... the 8 and 12 are both 22" just the 10 is 24"

From what I read the L model uses a straight fin configuration for low pressure turbo systems. Thus why you don't want the L model, since you guys will be pushing 20 psi plus on the stock turbo.

I could be wrong but thats what I got out of it, so any of the standard (non L model) IC's should work.

Basically whats gonna happen is if 10 people or more are dedicated to purchasing this IC kit. Then those 10 or more people can get it for $250 (TR8) instead of $299.95.

The deadline is 4 weeks unless Treadstone would like to shorten that time span. Meaning, Once 4 weeks are up, Treadstone will be looking for payments via paypal, phone, etc... he posted his acceptable methods of payment not too long ago.

I think there is definately 10 people in on this now so give him a call and see if he will sell at the discounted price. Just explain to him where you saw this deal and what you screen name is. His name is Jason.

I dont see why nobody can order now if we got the 10 or more dedicated buyers
