to answer this question, it looks as though its 2" increase on the top. Im just judging from the pics I cant give you a definate answer. I also noticed the mounting brackets in the TR10 pic are on top of the IC. I hope that they put the same mounts on the TR10 that are on the TR8.

the TR8s mounting points look spiffy!

Really nobody has these intercoolers installed accept Pbass. And he has the TR8 and said it fit beautifully.

I should get my IC on monday afternoon and if weather permits, install and photograph and create the write up tuesday.

The issue with this is there are a few members on the fence that would like to see data behind it and Treadstone made a due date by Monday for purchasing. In the last thread he put 4 weeks for the group buy. Now he saw the rush of interest and shortened the due date cause we met his demand of 10 people.

Is the group buy price really $225 for the TR8 including shipping?!?!?! Jeez... maybe I should have made this thread first and then ordered under the group buy.

Exactly how I thought of it. Its performance already exceeds the factory IC thanks to the cast endtanks.

I'm interested in the numbers too, but with me I figured if it's not worse performance than I'm fine plus I got rid of my plastic pieces and I think it looks good. So if it is same as stock I'm happy, any bump in performance I'm super happy.

If it's worse than well, there's a problem and I'll be returning it and Treadstone hopefully will take it back.

For the debate on wether coating the IC is beneficial.

I have a Subbie thread for you guys to read up on.
thermal dispersant testing

I am going to do this exact same testing with the stock IC vs the Treadstone IC. I will create data tables and graphs much like Grimmspeed does there.

If you cant tell what your looking at from this data I will explain it later , lol.

RISSA, if you want a black IC I suggest you do it this way ^

It's not 225 with shipping. When you buy it from the site they calculate shipping which is around 25$~

ahhh I figured. What do you think of the thread I posted above? I plan to do that with the stock IC and Treadstone to show any lowered IATs.

Just to be sure, IAT1 is at the MAF and IAT2 is the 1st MAP sensor after the IC correct? or is it at the intake manifold?

I dont think I will do a 3rd gear pull as I feel that would net me some jail time (subbie 6speed is alot shorter gears than a cobalt SS )

I will do 2nd gear pull.

Terribly sorry

I always searched this thread for the latest news and find alot of that news turns into group buys here.

Case in point:

-K&N intake

-CIA DPs, CPs, and Intake

-Forge BPV

-Treadstone IC

-Treadstone Stage kits (not sure if this group buy ever was successful.)

Group buy is still on if you change your mind and decide you can squeeze $250 on your credit card, lol. I have a feeling this GB will happen again if this is successful, meaning 10 or more actually paid.

Oh and I updated the front page, Jason told me that they fitted the TR10, TR12, TR8 on Cardelino's car. The mounting points are all in the same locations. So those IC should actually work just fine. I forgot about Cardelino when he preached about the Treadstone kits...

i know you say they all mount the same but what are you doing about the tr12 being 2" longer. its bugging me because they cant all fit perfect if they are different sizes. and we are being provided with 3" to 2.5" couplers?

So I placed my order, what happens if we don't get 10 buyers? I'm really excited for this Intercooler, I hope I get it.

He said that there is a newer version of this TR10 that has the same core length and he mentioned earlier that the TR12 also has the 22" core length.

edited: he mentioned it in this quote too, lol.

He's selling these as kits for the Cobalt SS, he told me in a PM when I asked about the other sized ICs that he will have to include "reducers" with the TR10 and TR12 since they go from a 3" inlet/ outlet on the IC to a 2.5" inlet/outlet on the charge piping.

What I dont know is if you get 3" elbows or 2.5" elbows with the larger ICs. Im not sure if the 3" elbows would be too big but we do know the 2.5" elbows fit fine base on those pics.

Would be cool if the larger IC kits came with the 3" elbows in case people with Hahn CPs wanted to remove a choke point completely right?

I think the Hahn CP is 3 inches diameter... It looks huge.

I hope the group buy does happen, I hope 10 people paid or at least pay by monday. If it doesnt happen, and what would happen with other GBs is your money would sit in lingo till the tenth person makes his payment. Thats how the Clear Image Automotive one worked for me when I paid right away and waited for the other 20 people. lol. It was almost 2 months before I got it. But it was definately worth the wait since I saved about $80 on a new product thats usually $400.

No I updated the first page. Theres a link he has set up that allows you to purchase the IC kit for the Cobalt SS. The TR8 is priced at $225 in that link. He figured the shipping wont be more than $25 so shipping plus $225 = the $250 price.

Your card will only be authorized for $225 + shipping cost. He cant just take another $50 out. Either you get refunded or Monday doesnt become the due date and it gets pushed back, lol.
