I know people say Vince is running ~28 psi on his HHR, but I just wanted to know what I should set my boost to. I do not want to experience any issues with CELs, clutch slippage, etc. Any info guys would be greatly appreciated.

If you want to avoid clutch slip I would not reccomend running over 22 psi at all. This tiny turbo makes monster low end torque that the stock clutch just cannot handle sometimes.

So what do you think peak WHP is for someone stock running the tune @ 22psi? 24 psi? I want to be moderately conservative as far as tuning goes...

This just in. As some of you know I got tuned with Infiniboost last week. My car has been boosting 21.5-22.9 normally and seems to go higher (into the 24s) when in higher gears (since the turbo's under more load probably). Just thought I'd throw that out there. In second gear you're not getting more than somewhere in the 22s (which is great because there's nothing you could do with more on street tires anyway), and 3rd-5th is when it really turns it on. At least on mine.

Just an FYI for those that were wondering.

Edit: Also, about the stock clutch. I actually tried to get mine to slip right after I got the tune to find the threshold. It didn't slip until it was just below 3000RPM in 5th and it was a blip for a split second. Mine's an '09 though with 23k miles if that makes any difference. I heard the pressure plates for the '09s might've been a bit better or something.

I'm confused, I thought "infiniboost" was the 30psi turbo blowup tune?

It can be if you want it to be. All Infiniboost is is letting you go above the current ECU max boost pressure. How much over the max is up to you. 23-30 or more is all fair game. I asked for a 24-25 max is why I'm boosting about that much when maxed out.

In theory you could ask for a 23psi tune and it would still be considered Infiniboost.

yeah i dont think im slipping really. So Im happy. just the wacky boost pressure at 1/2 throttle bc of the air intake box mod. but other than that im good.

VE airflow is the one to look at. A car with an intake may show lets say 36 lbs/min MAF flow but if it is only 27 lbs/min VE airflow that stinks. I have never seen a log of an SS/TC that showed more than 30.5 lbs/min VE airflow even at greater than 22 psi.

It should not be doing that.

Hey all,
I just filled out the GT tuner order form, and in the terms and conditions .pdf, it says the replacement cost for the GT tuner is $750. I thought that it was only $250 for the equipment, only if you wanted to keep it.

There is a deposit that is held on your credit card to protect them if you don't return it. That has nothing to do with replacement cost. Replacement cost will take into account the time they have to take to order another one, any sales they may have lost while they are short a unit, etc, etc.

I've had the trifecta tune for a while, and while the higher gears are all fine, whatever they did to 1st gear seems to make it slower than stock.

That's why I drove 3 hours to an independent dealer.

My car boosts 22's in second and not sure what at the top of 3rd or 4th. My RPD blanks out and says no data when I go over 25.

^x2. Exactly what it does on mine. 22psi in 2nd gear and up to 24-25 in the others. The RPD going blank when over 23psi bothered/worried me at first, but I got used to it. That's just it going haha. It always resets back to normal after a bit though.

mine is boost limited to like 7 psi in first

think vince does this so the tires don't completely blow off in first gear

mine completely blows off and lays two black marks from a second gear hit, so first would be useless at full boost

vince did not ask me, it just came that way

i had the bsr tune before and it got 20+ psi in 1st and it would go nowhere in 1st gear, wheel hop etc

its actually faster out of the hole now, as I can actually launch the car in 1st

hold down the lower left part of the start up screen with you finger(the one with the engine) for 5 seconds and it will go into data log mode

follow the directions from there
