The ULTIMATE TC Downpipe...the Hahn MODpipe!
Strip is cheap, so I get that more people want to do it.
I don't
I want to use my car for the track, not the strip...and in that case I and people who would rather go to a road course type of track more than likely would probably care about the following:
Saving a few bucks on some cut out you only can use on the straightaway for tires, brakes, etc etc
Gas
Anything that is not a cut out.

Yeah it did get alittle crazy, and I'm partially at fault, but it was worth it.

Well I'm not too worried about anything but the Drag Strip, because that is the only type of course they let anyone on in a great long distance from here, and hell the track here is only 1/8 mile!! I'm content with my Brembos and stock tires for now, just gotta worry about getting DR's this Spring or Summer.

Whatever that is supposed to mean, and there are prices up on his website.
You srt4 owners are failing to realize something...
1, This isnt a srt 4
2, The stock turbos on these cars arnt near the stock turbos on srt 4's, Which is why you wont see a difference between a catless setup or a cutout.
Now on a larger turbo? Yea a cutout would be better but on a small turbo your not going to see a difference

and i see how the pipe is now. it's just a bolt on middle piece and you can choose from the 3. whichever one you want.
350 for the rear piece, 170 for the electric cutout, and another 150 for the mid section that you use the electric cutout on. Not quite 800 but its over 800 if you get another mid section.
Wow, I have to let threads sit unwatched like this more often! I laffed my hinie off reading this all at once tonight. No, I'd not change a thing. I enjoy spirited debate, even if it does dilute a product thread a bit. What the heck, life's too short to not have some fun!
As for my reply, where to start...
Let's start with the unwatched part. In a nutshell, things have gone BERSERK at Hahn RaceCraft the last few weeks, and my ability to "man the forums" has slipped. Whatever we're doing, it's working! In a down economy, we're seeing huge upswings in order volume, and I'd like to thank you all for that. It's a challenge, for I am hesitant to hire up new staff to handle the increased workload as the economy hemorrhages half-a-million jobs a month to unemployment. But I am not complaining. I can think of much worse problems to have than this! Overtime, while expensive, is my friend for now. The orders must get filled!
For anyone who's tried to reach us lately, and been less-than-ecstatic with our ability to reply, I thank you for your patience. We've already made some changes to improve, and should be all caught up shortly. In an informal poll of customers, they unanimously agreed they'd rather we get their orders built and shipped than have us instead talk to prospective new customers, so the hard choices were made. With all due respect to those prospects who would like some face time prior to placing an order, the ones who just place the orders are the ones getting the most love for now. And they are numerous! Thank you, Obama (I think)
OK, yes, moving on the thread topic...this is a very unique product, and assuredly NOT the least expensive way to a cutout. But, of course, that's not the intention...the intention is to allow enormous flexibility now and in the future, with a cutout being but one option. This flexibility can SAVE money for those who just can't leave their stuff alone. It's economical, to not have to buy another/hack/modify your pipe(s) as your world evolves.
The QTP SRT-4 pipe shown earlier is an example of a different concept, that of a one-piece solution. Somewhat comparing apples and oranges here, not to mention Chevys and Mopars
HOWEVER. When we came to market with three different downpipe choices (Off-Road, CatCon, and MODpipe Modular) at one time, we didn't realize that limiting the cut-out to the Modular only would generate such interest.
(A side note...that QTP pipe positions the cutout valve as the lowest point on the car, considerably lower than the subframe. That's a real no-no on street driven vehicles...well, unless you don't mind smashing that valve regularly on speed bumps, varmints, etc. Our design tucks the valve up in a safe position.)
As for the math, yes..the $800 figure is hooey. A cut-out version of the MODpipe will MSRP at $660. Sure, it's a chunk, but remember...that includes the Features and Flexibility of the modular design that can save considerable cash down the road. Additionally, repeat Hahn customers will enjoy a discount, and our dealers are not strangers to rewarding their loyal customers as well.
As for that one-piece solution, the equivalent of our Off-Road pipe with a cutout...you asked for it, and you're gonna get it. Pricing and info soon to follow!

wow thats hillarious. well if you can never make up your mind. you can throw a cutout on it. say maybe you wanna take a girl out. she hates loud cars. or you gotta go to a late night booty call and need to be quiet. throw the cat on it and go to town haha.
the fact that you can change your exhaust at home with a jack and some wrenches is a great idea. just wish my pockets were deeper. damn you economy and being laid off!
