Like I said, for me its plenty of power for what I need, and the fact that I keep my warranty is great because now I can dump money into the vette without having to worry about blowing up my DD because I went with some extreme tune and pushed it too hard

Im just getting annoyed with people saying the tune is crap, because its not. Have you even driven a Stg 1 car?? A lot of time went into this tune (we all know, we had to wait) by the same guys that designed our cars, so how can you say its crappy tune???? It doesnt make as much power as the aftermarkets, thats obvious. However, it still makes a big increase over stock, has a great power curve, and pulls REAL hard for a tune thats covered under a 5yr/100k warranty.... I mean seriously?....I picked up over 40hp and 70tq to the wheels....that makes a hell of a noticable difference..

So rather than knock it, how about "To each their OWN!"
Don't worry about it. I bet your car is just as fast as his.

I agree with you man. I don't own an LNF, but I have been following the threads about the GM Stage 1 tune, and all the work that went into it. You just have to ignore the people that say the tune is crap. Half the time it is some young kid that knows nothing about the testing, engineering, and hard work that went into the GM tune. GM tunes are made to work in all kinds of conditions across the U.S. They may be a tad more mild then a custom tune, but you can be sure as **** it would **** up your car in the long run. Same **** went down after the Stage kits came out for the SS/SC. People think the tune is **** because GM Stage 2 didn't put down 300whp. Yet you can still run a decent high 13 sec 1/4 mile time at the track, and still maintain your warrenty. Yeah, thats real crappy.

its a ******* cobalt.
i know it can be a somewhat fast car and all...but 300 whp range...whichever way you slice is is no where close to being a monster. so whether someone makes 320, or 360 shouldn't make a difference.
if you want huge power buy a real race car, not a gm economy car thats been souped up a bit.
don't get me wrong, i love my car.
but this isn't about seeing whos cobalt is best, its a community of people that love their cars so instead of arguing about all this **** just get over it and grow up.
you don't have to prove your e-dick is bigger than anyone elses.
i love when people use this statement on this site ....

i love mine. but its not capable of anything like 6, 7, 8, 9 + hundred whp.
its made to be an economically priced car that doesn't generally guzzle gas, but still has some fun to it.

every tune is different, every tuner is different.
i'm just tired of people asking for more info on tunes and what kind of power they yield, and then bashing it later on and saying that theres no way, etc, different dynos all that.

i know u guys are gonna say i got ripped and u walked out with your balt for 19k and yada, yada, yada, BS, a big BS, unless u paid hard cash for it or put down 5-6k. one thing i have learned in life, #1 thing people lie about (exaggerate) is how much money they make and up there is also how much of a 'deal' they got on their car, especially when talking with someone who has same car as them!! btw, I have a credit score of about 800. be honest guys, please...

Your credit score is nothing here.. we are not trying to sell you a car, or anything else for that matter.

my dad had to cosign, but i got my car for 19k.
i had 3k negative equity, but then i put down a 3k downpayment and knocked down the negative equity.
i have a 7% interest though. my car is a new 09.
this ss/tc sat there from the beginning of 09 till i bought it.
i even test drove it 3 different times, with dif people haha
they wanted it gone.

I don't know about other people but mine was advertised for $18.5k brand new, no hail damage or any of that noise. The dealership where I got it bought it from another dealership in NJ that was shutting down due to the economy, hence the cheap price. It had like 512 miles on it where it was driven from dealer to dealer. I don't lie either, what would be the point? I def don't make 100k a year, I drive a cobalt lol

19K ouch.

Whats your monthly payment? Technically you paid 22 for the car. Also that doesn't include TT&L.

Can you explain how you got pulled by 3+ car lengths by a lnf cobalt on 19psi when you were running 24psi? How does that happen of tuning doesnt make a difference?

Your right, because if you did not get that good of a deal no one could have got that deal. Everyone who said 18-20 is lying. To look better....on an internet forum....riiiiight.

Look man, quit trying to validate yourself. Your just comming off as an ass. No one cares about how long you been in the "game" or how much money you make, or what your credit score is.

A rich man doesn't have to tell you he is rich.

My window sticker was 25.5k and I paid 18,250 with 88 miles on it.

Much better deal than almost all cars in its class.

Because most here are idiots when it comes to finance, and still live with parents.......They spout I walked out of the door paying 19k......Yet they forget the tax, title, dealer fees, and what finance rate they got . Even a post above the poster is like 19k out the door, but I did put 3k down (LMAO, sorry that isnt paying 19k for a car!). I took the great finance offer (almost always beats the cash back option) vs the cash back on mine. 5year, 1.9% and just a little half of the princple remaining (I like to pay **** off)

Ouch. The 19 psi cobalt was not running a 12.0 A/F that is how.

yes, i agree with you about people just talkin and showing. i mean again, no dealer is gonna give someone a car that msrp's for 24,995 (go freaking look up that number, that includes lsd and sunroof) for 19K, such bullshitters here on this site, little freaking kids walking in with their dads with shitty credit scores, well ya know what, even if your daddy co signed for you with his 800 credit score, you still ain't gettin that fully loaded balt ss/tc for 19 k out the door, liars!! go scan and post your bill of sale dumbasses. and this guy has every right to bitch about it, just be honest and provide proof if your gonna make forward a claim that might seem 'off the mark'.

maybe and I mean maybe, a dealer that is on the skids and facing a local closing may mark down the msrp but they will make up for it in other areas to get their invoice. or if someone drove it for a month and turned it back in, and then u gotta wonder why. its funny when i used to own an sti, i would browse nasioc and no one would really bs there, all hardcore guys that were upfront about their 'monthly payments' and 'numbers' . i guess its the age demographic difference between the two cars. and maybe I could of gotten car for 375 a month for 72 months with zero down and a %1 percent interest, but i didn't want to haggling and debating with the manager, was just happy they were paying off my subie and taking it off my hands. i'm done with this crap.

There were quite a few of us on here that got wind damaged SSs (mainly The east coast)...and Mine was marked down to 16.5k (although they were at 18.5k before the markdown). So with the 16.5k price, They gave me 3,000 for my 2001 Blazer, and I put down an additional 1,500....leaving me with 12k...then with TTL I think it was close to 14k...plus the interest which my rate I think is like 2 or 3 percent or something small it comes out to nearly 15k. My monthy payments are low as ***** but I am pating an ass-ton per month so I can pay it off ahead of time and not have all that interest (should only have about a years worth of interest when she's paid off so I wonlt have to pay the full 66 month loan worth of interest). So...yes...quite a few of us (the whole first batch of 08 SS's were involved with the wind damage deal) got absolutely amazing deals on these things. Enough with your high and mighty talk.

where did i say that tuning makes no difference.
let me restate what i said "to each their own.
every tune is different, every tuner is different."

you just wanted to come in and say you beat me by three car lengths lol.
which doesn't really bother me because i know how you beat me....i just didn't say anything because it would have turned into a you're just bitching cause you lost, or excuses rant.
i'm cool with you, be cool with me. it was a good race.
but to answer your question.

theres an easy way to explain it.
i wasn't nls (car barely had over 380 miles on it, no need to break a tranny yet) had the stock dp (2 cats), still have a muffler, and the stock restriction hot side pipe. (all my piping is still the bs gm calls boost piping)
i'm also 100% sure you're tune is a lot more agressive than mine is too.
i asked for it not to be that way. i don't have a backup car like you do.

you were nls, had a dp, no muffler, and a hot side pipe.
and again i didn't say tuning didn't make a difference.i said it doesn't matter what you say on this website, because someone else is gonna become hypocritical once you answer their original questions or post your proof. thats how this site is.

exactly, even terminator one of the tuners that makes the most power with the lnf knows that if you beat me that bad you're tune was really aggressive.
my tune is actually a lit bit richer than an even 12, because its not the most aggresive it can be.

It had like 512 miles on it where it was driven from dealer to dealer. I don't lie either, what would be the point? I def don't make 100k a year, I drive a cobalt lol
lol i know right. if i made 100k i'd be driving something a little more tasteful :p
mine was pretty much at this price as well...they had a lot of incentives at my dealership because the end of the year was coming.
literally knocked off **** tons off sticker price.
only problem was i had negative equity and even my 3k didn't completely take it away.

Whats your monthly payment? Technically you paid 22 for the car. Also that doesn't include TT&L.

well i got the 75k warranty, the gm gap insurance, the work insurance, and the towing services. along with my interest it brings it to about 405 a month.
i was gonna be less than 400 but all that stuff added brought it up a little bit.
for my age its not bad. my credit score isn't built enough to really get a good deal yet .
at least i didn't pay 25k though...i went hunting all over before i bought mine. but for some reason i already knew this one was gonna be mine. it had sat there all year, and i had test driven it a few times. it was calling my name
