Hey guys so i basically shooting for around 400whp and 400tq with the efr that i have now... so will i need a tranny or should i be ok.. i know i can get more out of the car but im kinda scared that my tranny will give out.. what do ya think?

 

depends on what kind of tires you will be using.

When it breaks you will need a transmission, I have a spare transmission for this exact reason.

 

im running kdw2 right now.. really dont plan on running radials or slicks just for that reason

 

You may, you may not. It depends on a lot of factors and there's no definitive answer either way. People have nuked SS/TC trannies on a lot less than 400whp. If having to buy a new tranny is a deal breaker, go for a milder set-up. If you're OK with pushing the limits and POSSIBLY having to replace the tranny, then I say push it as far as you want and replace it only if and when it breaks.

 

At 400/400, I'd say have a spare sitting. 3rd gear will eventually grenade.

 

question tho what good will a spare do?? wont the same thing happen to the spare eventually?? i know someone here ran a lsj tranny for a bit.. will that be better couse of the gearing?

 

Get a ZZP 4.45

 

is that an automatic or 5 speed with the ZZP swap?

 

They offer both a F35 and a 4T45E.

 

mongorat i see u have the stage 2 zzp tranny, is the stage 2 any different from the regular upgrade 4.45?

 

A spare would get you around while you're getting the other one fixed. You can always pre-build, but I assume if you had the funds, you wouldn't be asking this question to begin with.

 

so i just bought a lsj tranny from a guy here for a very very good price.. what can i do to make the tranny stronger?

 

Aside from sending it to ZZP, not much. As far as I know there isn't a company that makes stronger 3rd and 4th gears, might be, see if someone chimes in.
