Your Downpipe...

Im trying to decide what to do for an exhaust system. I want nice sound but nothing over the top obnoxious. I was thinking about doing just a catted down pipe and leaving the cat back as is. I wanted to see how many people have an aftermarket catted (or catless) downpipe with a stock cat back.

If you have a set up like this could you post some videos so I can get an idea on the sound?

Thanks!

i have the catless dp and stock exhaust and its not too over the top at all. pretty quiet most times untill you jump on it

but def louder than when my cats were on

i would def do it this way again and have no regrets from a sound standpoint at all

Even more so, doing ANYTHING to a catted pipe is illegal INCLUDING replacing it with a catted pipe, unless it is the OEM one.

Period.

good input so far, thanks guys. So you guys with the catted dp's are you getting any increase in sound? Im not sure if I want to go with catless, ma is pretty strict, and they just got more strict recently.(the sticker machines now have web cams so they can tell if youre actually testing the car you say you are). I appreciate the advice, lets get some vids up too!

I have the catted CIA dp with a Hahn exhaust....With the exhaust and stock down pipe there wasn't a big difference (still only boosted around 17-18psi)....little louder and that is about it. However, when I changed out the down pipe I found that there was a really nice difference. I am still boosting 20psi (it has been a week)...and the car handles much better (more responsive, smoother, louder - but not obnoxious)...keep in mind that I am still stock-tuned so it has been interesting to see the increase in boost....
