ZZP ecotech heads

Time for the head portion of my build in 2weeks. I was on ZZP website but i do not want the head, cam and tune combo, and the head listed as LNF is a stock head. I went to the one that says ported head for $999.00 but it says core charge for 05-07 LSJ but it mentions LNF in the description of stage 1 and stage 2 porting. Will it fit the LNF or do i have to call and speak to someone?

I wouldn't even bother with a ported head. Just use the stock head with better valve springs. You're not trying to make 600hp in a FWD. I haven't seen anyone touting a large increase in power on the DI head, with porting. It is just air going through the head, not a fuel/air mix.

^^Better flow is always better. You cant make more power without more air.

Freeing up restriction and allowing increased airflow will be better and a little less stressful, i say port the head

not going for 600hp your right, maybe i can shift those funds sumwhere else thought the potential of the mod would give peace of mind raising rev limit to 7k-8k

If you can make 500hp without a port job, what's the point on a FWD?

It's really easy to do more damage than good with these LNF heads. There's a reason ZZP doesn't spend a lot of talking about porting them. I can't put words in their mouths but I'm fairly certain that if there were any real and economical gains to be made there, ZZP would be touting them more. I mean, they are in business to sell the stuff they do, right? They put their efforts elsewhere and I suspect you might want to as well.

I've got the ZZP Stage 1 ported head. It seems to help cover a bit for the drop off on top of the turbo. On my old setup it would drop off pretty quickly around the 5,800-6,000 area, in fact I could hit shift points pretty well without looking at the tach, and going just by the power dropoff since it was so noticeable. It now pulls pretty well right up until my 6,500 limiter.

On that note, I agree that it all eventually hinges back on the turbo. You can still feel that the turbo is holding things back. Part of the point of my getting the head though was to set myself up for a turbo upgrade in the future, and improve flow without having to raise boost quite so much.

im asking about the ported head thats on ZZP website read my post....you can even go to the website and refer to what i am talking about, there are two types listed the one for the LNF comes with cams and a tune which i said i did not want the other only has a drop down for 05-07 LSJ's but states in the description works on LNF's so i was asking will it fit or is it just for comparison.

We did not have the LNF ported head available separate, but I think we are going to add that option. How soon are you looking to purchase?
