ZZP LNF Developments
ZZP LNF Developments
With our LNF gathering coming up this weekend, I figured I'd take a minute to talk about some new stuff that we are working on over at ZZP.
First and foremost, we have been testing our bolt-on ZZP/EFR turbo, otherwise known as ZFR. We are hoping to have one bolted on another car before this weekend. We are also working on sourcing more EFRs in order to move closer to a release date.
To go along with our prototype ZFR turbos, we will also be testing a new prototype zzp engine, and hopefully by this weekend as well.
Since a lot of people have wanted higher revving LNF motors, but they are limited to make power up to 7400 RPM, Ryan and I decided to modify the cam phasers on my car to allow us to run optimum cam phasing well past 7400 RPM. So far, I have pushed past 8000 RPM with lots of power to be had. We also decided to swap in a larger turbo to really test this new setup. I maxed all of the injectors, including the 5th injector on E85, so I mixed in more gas, switched to an 80 lb 5th injector, raised the DI pressure, and stated turning up the boost. Unfortunately, my zzp trans finally met it's match.
Honestly, I was expecting this to happen by now considering the dozens of dyno pulls well beyond 500 ft lbs, and a couple over 600! Anyhow, it's broke. I am hoping that Brandon can swap in a used trans that we have on the shelf so that I can make a couple pulls during the dyno day on Saturday.
After this, we will be re-visiting the 6 speed swap. With a prototype engine, cam phasers, and transmission, we might have to have an LNF max power test session.

This is awesome. I love how you guys push till things blow up. Then come and tell us. I don't think any vendors on other sites would do so. I am currently awaiting the ZFR along with a few other people I can only imagine.
What are the specs of this prototype zzp engine. Is it still an LNF block or is it a straight billet block CNC'd for brute power? something like this?

^^ 2000whp capability lol

i wish i could make it to the meet. but its just to far away. i really need to learn alot more about the turbo ss as far as engine mods goes. i have the only one in shreveport/bossier city LA. theres only a couple supercharged ss's and they are still stock to the best of my knowledge.
