ZZP please chime in.

In this video and thread that I have posted. I am curious, is this the 23 PSI run? I assume from what I read that you are using race fuel. From doing general math, 1 PSI = 10 HP, would you assume that you are at the 480WHP range?

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l...pdates-200854/

My question is, with the S256ET setup (I have an LSJ, I posted in here because the car is an LNF) and straight up pump gas. Is it possible to get 450 WHP with 91 Octane? My tuner was able to get 449 WHP with the S256ET on an LNF at 27 PSI and 93 Octane.

That was a completely stock engine with just the turbo swap bolted up. I have a ported and polished head that I assume will help me out.

Also, I watch this video and get discouraged. Granted this is an S252ET (bad turbo)

I would hope that with over 400 HP that you would be able to get well into the 11's. With the amount of power I want to run, am I going to only run 12's?

I plan on running 24.5x8.5x15 M/T slicks, p&p head w/ upgraded springs, stock bottom end, 3" ZZP exhaust, 91 Oct, enough boost to get 450 WHP.

Sorry for the long post. Just something that has been on my mind since I ever thought of turbo swapping. I have searched long and hard but can't get a solid answer.

I guess to sum up my rant. Will a 450 WHP S256ET swapped Cobalt get a mid 11 second et?

Dropping the clutch like it takes to get a good 60' and a good et will break ****.

Your ported head will help with the LSJ immensely.

Run 94.

I hope you don't mind but I was referring to your car. I don't know if I want to run 94 because you can't get 94 everywhere. It might be different out there but around here it is sparse.

Wouldnt an octane booster aid in that situation?

An octane booster isnt going to gain enough on the octane rating of the fuel, basically octane booster wont get you 94 if your running in the tank.

Ignore that octane booster bs.

When you order the kit tell matt m or Tim that you want a larger hot side like a .70. Little more lag. I have the .55. It will open it up up top. You can rev to 8k on an LSJ???? so with a ported head I wouldn't worry. But when you race things will break and it will cost money. I would buy the kit and limp it around town...do the occasional pull and leave it at that. Unless you have the dough.

I'd rather have the smaller hot side because I am still going to drive it everyday. I can't rev out to 8 unless I get neutral balance shafts. With the valve springs I am getting I will be able to rev to 7,500 safely and I am happy with that. I am confident that Kevin will be able to tune that thing to haul serious tail.

I don't really have the dough and to be honest, I shouldn't even do the setup because of my financial situation. I realize that down the road my drive train will need to be upgraded but for now I don't want to risk it.

Raver, we sort of spoke on OCC, I am d4rk_c0b4lt on there. I'd love to be able to make it to CSCS but Cayuga is nearly 4 hours from me. When I finish my setup I will have to run it down St.Thomas or Grandbend and get some results. I seriously hope to get at least an 11.80 @ 120 ish.

I trapped 122 on street tires with 2nd gear dummied down big time at only 20psi. With a full 26psi and some slicks and less wheel spin 124ish is possible me thinks.

With those speeds it sounds promising. Cmiller trapped 133 with his 10.89 run. I would assume you could get an 11.6 @ 124

.
You should be aware of and accept other parts on your car may fail at anytime sometime without warning when you mod for performance/hp. And it will cost you $$.

I'm aware of that. It's been an ongoing progress with my car. Lol. I accept everything that will happen.
