$ to install forged pistons?
How much are people paying for and what in involved with installing forged pistons? iirc the cylinders need to be rehoned and possibly the deck needs to be lvled (never done this in a car and I won't have the time/place to do it anytime soon).

Dude, all you need is a die grinder, a level, maybe a measuring tape and dont forget safety glasses.
But seriously, bring it to a shop, unless you have everything you need to hone, bore, and level. It's not really worth it unless your pushing 20+psi or pushing some serious power. Then you need to start thinking about what your transmission will hold power wise, your crank, rods, etc.

Honeslty, it isn't hard to do it yourself. It is a weekend job. Hell, cams can be done in 3 hours start to finish, at that point all else is needed is headbolts and oilpan for pistons.

I'm old school
If you are inexperienced in working with engines, then you will need a shop to do it. My engine builder charged me an even grand for my build, but I also had rods, balanced the rotating assembly, and replaced the valves and springs. That didn't include the parts. I had a well equipped shop do mine. There is no need to level the deck unless you broke something. Tank and hone should be all you need.
