didn't the 06 black s/c ss originally come with the painted (gunmetal) finish on the wheels?

all of the ones i see now have the polished wheels...




i always liked the painted ones, despite of the flake problem, it looks better.

 

Yes, the polished wheels are a $400 option.

 

ive seen the polished ones on the black 06's without it listed on the sticker.

They make money and solve a problem in one shot. I can imagine this being thought of by GM.

 

Probably because so many people want the polished wheels they just made them in a huge lot and the excess went on other cars without the markup. *shrugs*

 

according to chevy.com it's a 395 dollar option even on the black ones. are you sure you thoroughly looked at the sticker?

 

i like the gunmetal look persoanlly.

 

I just bought a 06 black SS SC and my rims look to be the Hi Po wheels. I did not pay for this option.
