I typically change mine at 40% just to be on the safe side.

You can't judge synthetic oil like you would a normal oil.

different strokes for different folks.

i know a guy who spends ~180 every oil change flushing his 700whp camaro with mobil 1, 4 times.. to make sure his oil is clean.. EVERY 1000 miles.

i however.. do it every 3000 and that is how it is going to be.

I change mine always between 15% and 20% and I must admit it's pretty black.

its called you goto the dealer and tell them they need to get you a damn manual.

going over 6,000 miles every time is not the way to go. there are certain detergents in motor oil that help keep the engine clean and they break down after so long. the oil will last you well over 6,000, but the detergents wont. mine gets changed at about 40% life.

Yeah, normally that's what I would have done....

But I imported the car because my local dealer (the only Chevy dealer on the island) doesn't import Cobalts and they don't offer support for them either

Can you arrange shipping to the Netherlands Antilles ?

I know it's a pain, that's why I would have preferred a digital (PDF) version

NO no no no. Go to www.gm.com and then owner center up at the top. After you fill out a few info boxes you will have access. Then go to "glovebox" and view the PDF owner's manual.

I usually change mine around that time, so I would change it pretty soon.
