2.2 to 2.0

is is possible to pull a 2.2 motor and tranny out and put a 2.0 into it. my sister has water in the oil and dad said time to buy a new motor so i was hoping to be able to upgrade it a little if possible.

well, dads likely wrong, and a whole new motor wont be needed. The 2.0 motor really isnt much better than the 2.2 motor either...its the supercharger thats attached to it that makes it what it is. unless you mean an LNF?

anyway, what year car do you have and which 2.0 were you planning on swapping over?

Can it be done? Sure probably. Has it been done? Not really.

You're going to need a lot of time, a lot of money. You need more than just the motor and tranny, you'll need a new ECU AND a standalone, wiring harnesses, and more. It's not like a Honda where different motors are essentially "plug and play." You're better off replacing it with another 2.2 and adding boost if that's what you want.

i was just going to basically just going to buy a totalled car that had been hit from the rear and then just pull everything that is in the front and swap it.

This.

Anything else is wasting your time and money.
