2.7 need help

i have a 2.9 intense pulley on my car now, and i want to drop to 2.7 that i have..i know i need to machine the snout for this to fit, but what else do i need? 60s, retune.. cooling of some sort prolly exchanger and duel pass. i have a flowmaster cat back should i change down pipe or exhaust manifold? i mean i know it wouldnt hurt but could i leave stock dp and exhaust mani?

Yes 60's and an tune for sure. Get an heat exchanger and maybe also a dual pass will be great. I just had an h/e for cooling when I had an 2.7 and it pulled fine, but I didn't beat on the car all the time. I would deff. get an 3inch dp for the catback exhaust. But you can run a stock dp if you want but you'll see some false boost numbers some times

You won't need to machine the snout for a 2.7"

OP:

I'll be dropping to a 2.7" pulley, 60's, and a Trifecta tune w/ GMS3 features very soon.

My supporting mods are intake, full exhaust (header, downpipe, catback), & cooling mods (front mount heat exchanger & Option B.)

I highly recommend making sure your exhaust setup is up to the task of handling the increased air flow produced by the 2.7" pulley. So def look into a header downpipe combo. Also, dont skimp out on the tune.

You shouldnt need to machine the snout with a 2.7" pulley. I guess it could depend on which brand of pulley & hub you select though.

Mine had to be machined as well. I don't necessarily think it was due to the maker of the pulley as opposed to a manufacturing oddity. Just sayin it's on a case by case basis.

Let me add my question to this thread. Mods are in my sig and I am tuned for the 2.85. I have the zzp s3 h/e on its way, going for a 3" downpipe soon. If i were to drop down to a 2.7 would you think I'd need a retune?

I definitely would recommend it. Every pulley size down spins the s/c exponentially faster, so dropping from a 2.85 to a 2.7 is forcing more air than dropping from say a 3.0 to a 2.85.
